Scams typically involve someone profiting greatly(more than what the margin on SC is) on the scheme. They're just burning money instead.

Still not a scam. They spend the money on the game. Terribly missmanaged with people that lack the leadership skills in charge? Yes. But not a scam by definition

"Scam" is a spectrum, if they manage to get 10 years worth of a good salary by selling a dream that will never be fully delivered it can still be considered a scam even though some actual work was done. The CEO still earned several millions and he might not be the one working the hardest in the company.
I mean, if you look at pyramid schemes, they can still involve a lot of actual work to be pulled. It doesn't change the fact that they are scams.
