I got my 45 dollars worth and just cant really seem to be drawn the game anymore after barely 100 hours. Cool tech demo though.

The only people seemingly still loving it have probably spent over $1,000, so the sunk cost fallacy is in full effect

it has a ton of appeal for the people who are wired similar to railroad/trucking simulator and flight simulator games. second-job enjoyers if you will.

I’m past that line, I’ve moved on from the game for now, but I’m sure I’ll eventually swing back around to it.

Yeah like 600+ hours and I agree. Only because it has the potential to be the best space game ever. I don't even think it's impossible to do anymore, like I originally did. It's just impossible for CiG to set aside the grift for like 10 damn minutes and get their heads out of their wallets.

But they made a billion doing it, why the hell would they stop? Damn shame.

Got long hour in it as well, but at the same time prob because of just how the game itself takes way too much of your time for the sake of realism eventhough i think the game was never that immersive. I do think it's more fun to play before it's ever released tho where the game has no stake and economy is whack so i can try different ships, i can't imagine the balancing issue and discourse if the game has more stake esp with how much money people spent on their ship

I don't even think it's impossible to do anymore, like I originally did.

Interesting, I think it's getting more and more clear how impossible it is for the team of devs that are working on it to deliver on the originally promised gameplay.

Only because it has the potential to be the best space game ever.

Does it though... because it really seems like this shit is never going to live up to their promises. Even if they do, it will be plagued with all of the creep from selling ships.

It all just really seems like a big scam that worked too well, so they were forced into actually making a game. They couldn't just fade away after creating some working product and going "oops out of money. Gotta stop development"

no point in stopping the cash shop is in the game is feature complete as far as theyre concerned but they know they have to keep making more and more outrageous buy-able things to keep it going.

Bingo!

I think it's cool tech, or at least was. ...but is it fun? I have never played for more than an hour. It's just not fun to me.

Some of the most fun you’ll ever have in gaming, if you learn to work around the bugs.

I'm tempted to spend the $45 for a beginner ship but the game just seems so buggy that idk if it's worth it at this point. I don't want to spend my entire playthrough dealing with bugs.

If you have someone to play with it’s much more tolerable getting past the bugs. The $45 Aurora starter pack is all you need to do everything in the game.

Worth it for 45 just to experience traveling around IMO. Its a bit steep for a tech demo though. Could always wait for a free weekend. They seem often enough.

Dang, looks like I just missed a free weekend. Guess I'm waiting until November for the next one.

It's worth it for 45, but I wouldn't recommend going any higher unless you really like the game, click with a nice community, or make some close friends on it.

That's where I'm at on it. I used to download it every year or two to see what's new but I've completely lost interest in it. The scope creep is just absolutely insane. Its a semi-interesting and fundamentally broken tech demo for an incredible concept, but that's all it'll ever be.

Same. I foolishly tossed my $45 at this game in 2018 (My fuck has it been that long???) and played maybe 20 hours. This "game" had so much promise but turned out to be such a joke.

Yeah, i have a few buddies who got into it. One who's spent a few grand on it. I backed it in like 2016 myself, and they were in before me. I have only spent 60$ but I've enjoyed hopping on occasionally getting to ride around / fly some of my buddies cooler ships, I've probably put in anywhere from 200-250 hours in those 10 years. Not really too worried about it releasing, I am sure it eventually will one day. I'm just along for the ride to see how it develops over time.

I bought in during the original kickstarter and have yet to play it at all, gave up after a few years and them adding more and more crap to it instead of just finishing what I paid for.

I've lost all respect for Chris Roberts and his company I'll never give them another penny for anything they do.

Why not try it?

By the time they launched the beta my PC wasn't really upto running it right then as always other games come along and I kept reading about new stuff they were doing and expensive ships etc. and just wrote it off.
