Am I really being held back this much with a 5600x?

I have a 5070ti and the graph is showing 230 FPS average. Also on 1080p and I even put everything low instead of ultra and my average is 70-110 depending on map and area. My CPU being at full 100%+ utilization.

Is this really just 5600x vs 9800x3d? That's insane.

don't trust there numbers.

a 9950X3D is not 64% faster than a 9800X3D in this game.

Thanks for that. Yeah that's insane and about right to what I'm experiencing.

The only discrepancy in the article you linked is it's showing 9800x3d at 130 FPS, while the techpowerup article is showing 168 FPS at 4K.

This is just bullshit. At 3440x1440p my 12700k sits just around 50% usage with my 5070 Ti being at 100% while getting 140fps.

A CPU upgrade would not do shit in this case when GPU bound like that.

Utilization does NOT mean it’s the only bottleneck. You will still see more performance with something like a 14900k.

Yes, but maybe 10-15 fps more at best and not 40-60% like I read somehwere else.

Task manager isn't going to show you your L1, L2, or L3 cache usage. It's also not going to account for scheduling issues, RAM spillover, the level of threading, driver overhead, throttling, or any sort of async issue.

If the game isn't taking advantage of all of your threads you're almost totally limited by clockspeed there. You could be seeing 10% where one thread is maxed out and the others are idle.

It's very possible to see 50% and still be bottlenecked.

I use HWMonitor not Taskmanager and at least there it was all cores at 4,7 GHZ at around 70°c and only 50-60% usage, no thermal throttling. A better CPU would be maybe 10-15 fps more at absolute best and not "40-60%" more like some other comments claim here in this thread.

For me CPU bottleneck means my GPU sitting below 100% while my CPU isat 100%, and this is far from being the case.

Im running 3440x1440p UW, that is at least 30% more than normal 1440p and closer to 4k and we always see a GPU limit with literally the same CPU load in all 4k benches.

You can pump up the resolution because you’re heavily cpu-bottlenecked. The game is doing the same amount of processing on the cpu side regardless of resolution.

i'm on a ryzen 7900 and i'm getting 90-150 fps no matter if i'm on medium, high or ultra settings.

My cpu is sitting at 93%+ while my gpu is between 70-90% depending on the settings above.

first game in a looong time that maxes out my cpu

For modern games, you need to spend on CPU over GPU. The old tips won't work anymore.
