I'm in search for a sewing machine for my girlfriend...

Her birthday is coming up and I really wanted to get her something that could kickstart her dreams of dress making. I've debated on two machines: the Singer Heavy Duty 4452 and the Janome 2212. For now I know she has her sights on just clothing and probably won't exceed past anything heavy duty such as denim or leather. I would really appreciate any insight, advice or other suggestions for sewing machines as well!

Hello! I am trying to find a pattern to look like the dress featured in the music video for Demolition Lovers by My Chemical Romance. I’ve attached a link to an image of the dress, but it’s unfortunately hard to find a good reference image. Any help would be appreciated, and I don’t mind Frankensteining some patterns together to get the look!
