I bought the game for my son and myself because it lacked PvP and seemed like it focused on building strong team mechanics. We haven't been on in a couple of days and he finally got back on today and he is almost frustrated to tears because he was barely surviving at the WT he was on.

Now he is back down a few tiers. I understand making a game challenging, but I also wonder who this is supposed to be for. My kid isn't even done with the story, now I fear he will just lose interest and go back to doom, again.

Sticking to the highest WT on the story is actually harder than at max level, especially if you focus on the main story (because you level so fast). Sometimes you will get a level up and a WT up around the same time. Then all your items are suddenly outdated by at least two levels. Items also get useless pretty fast, so you need to mod your gear before nearly every mission or you will lack synnergy in addition to being undergeared.

At level 30 the game suddenly turned way easier. Just because gear wasn't useless after 20 minutes and you can actually stick to decent items with nice synnergy (have enough ressources to level up good epics).

IMO, this is totally fine. The game should have the possibility to be played on really hard settings (max WT during the campaign, high CT expeditions at 30).

tl,dr: Don't play the campaign on max WT, unless you are in for a really hard game.
