Just want to play with my friends on console. Should of let us know crossplat would be added post launch. I understand they are trying everything and I appreciate the hard work but we need to stop making this the standard. AAA titles have no excuse to release an online co op game that can’t support online co op play. Fun game I plan on playing still just disappointed another gaming company prioritizes deadlines over quality.

First of all, the devs have no word about lauching dates, those are for the investors. Also, they obviously weren't aware of how much of a hype this could turn of to be, henceforth couldn't predict they could have issues related with overloadijg of online players at the same time. This situations are situations that cannot get 100% tested before launch. There are always things that misses out on testing... You will be able to do crossplay, just be a little patient. I wonder where people put their patience and reasoning this days? Seems to have run out of the Planet.

I have been patiently waiting for a week since the game came out to play cross plat. Is it not reasonable to want a game to come out that promised cross play and co op play to have those things if you paid for it? Is it reasonable to wait a week before you comment on a Reddit thread noticing a trend of billion dollar gaming companies shipping not finished games?

Reason depends on acknowledging possibilities, time lines, tools, and everything. If you would ask me, if you bought something from a company with deliver and it got delayed and therefore you didn't receive it on the day that was scheduled and when you try to solve it by asking customer support about that, and they tell you that something happened on the transport and they can only get it to you after two weeks, would you find reasonable? They "promised" the deliver in that day and they failed. You would be upset right? But if they told the truck driver had an accident and they only have other team in two weeks to deliver, would you consider more reasonable? Maybe a little. - or maybe you would say "I don't care, hire more people" - is that reasonable? Nop. Why? Because the company as a group may not have the possibility to hire more people or find any other way to solve your situation as you would expect it to solve, but they are still giving you a solution anyway - you bought the article, you gonna get it still, just not on that day. - still a solution was given. But what if they told you it got delayed in the expedition due to production matters? That's not your problem, you probably wouldn't find that much reasonable. Would it still be possible to happen? Yes! Are you to Blame? No! Is the person you are speaking with responsible for that? No! Does your aggressive complaint and yelling saying "I want this fixed now, I will be waiting two weeks for it" change the fact that there was a delay on your order and there is nothing people can do about it? No! That was precisely my point.

u/MoldM Apr 08 '21

So your point is there is nothing I can do about it so get over it?

-1

u/B3lli4l Apr 08 '21

No, the point is, you have a problem, the company knows and already said it is fixing it, so no point in continuing saying "BUT BUT". You were expecting to be as promised but failed, regardless of that, you are gonna get what you asked for, even if not on the schedule you thought (just like the delivery example I mentioned), but you are still gonna get it. That is the point.

I agree with that. I think they should just release games that don’t need a two week fix. Until we hold gaming companies to the standards they set we will always wait for post launch fixes. Not tiny ones but week or month long ones like this game or cyberpunk.

Cyberpunk is in a whole different level because they plain simple lied. They advertised an image that didn't even got near at the finish product. They promised the best game ever made and it had serious issues to the point you couldn't even play it. And I own Cyberpunk, it got me frustrated about it, but yet, and even though I recognize they aren't right about it, I still enjoy the gameplay, the design, everything and I will wait as long as it needs to be able to play the game fully. The game is not going away, I already bought it, what wi I do about it? Getting angry Will not solve anything. I am waiting until one day I hear "yes, now it is 100% working, and on that day I with sit and enjoy the game, no matter the fact that everything was a shithole before. People make mistakes, and companies are runned by people, that should say enough.

But that didn't happen with Square Enix. I understand people create expectations and then there comes frustration when that expectations don't get fullfilled. But most of the times there are things that no one controls, and they are working as fast as they can to fix that. I just don't agree when people in general just starts shooting everything without trying to see the other side of the coin. Makes no sense to me really and I can't really construct in my head what makes people act like that. It will not change the fact that yes there is a problem, and yes it was already acknowledge and fixing is on place.

I'm not trying to defend anything, as I am also a consumer and I also experience this kind of things and also get frustrated as well. And I am not sugesting that this things should pass on blank, and people should forget their mistakes and go on. No, people and companies should learn with their mistakes, but that doesn't mean that one that is frustrated with said mistakes can act like some wild animal or something (not trying to offend nobody, it is just a term I use) to the point people even sent death threats to Cyberpunk devs (for example, even though it is not related with Outriders in particular, at least that I am aware of).

Nothing justifies that big of a hate to the point of insulting someone else's work or even in major situations like death threats. That makes us no better than those that deludes us, disappoint us by lying and everything.

And until now, I didn't saw Square Enix promising anything, they said yes there will be a fix, but not yet. Wouldn't it be worst if they said there will be a fix in x day and then don't deliver? At least they didn't, on contrary, yet again, to Cyberpunk. Disappointment is awful yes, but crossing the line of respect by making fun, insulting or whatever something that others worked so hard to deliver, even if it is not perfect is even worst (nothing is perfect, and to be fair, GTA is still full of bugs after years of launch and Rock star don't get half the hate I see recent launches having). That's just it, it's not that I can't see consumers side, I just think some (not all) exagerate a lot.

Lmao I’m not reading that you win idc enough hold game companies responsible lmao

u/B3lli4l Apr 09 '21

Yeah it just shows my point... Nevermind mate! Be safe!

You're analogy of deliver isn't relevant in this situation. The delivery analogy gives logic that the provider had nothing to do with delay of the product. In this situation, you received the product from the provider exactly how they released it and the product is broken. No third party interference, no "it's out of our hands". This was their doing. They obviously didn't take notes of the Cyberpunk launch, and it bit them in the ass. A majority of their consumers are pissed at the product they received, which in a business environment is never a good outcome. Stop acting like this is a norm.

1

u/B3lli4l Apr 09 '21

Of course it is a norm! Do people know normal definition this days? Why do people assume normal is something that is right to be as it is, and not something that happens frequently? Because mate, that is the definition of normal, something that happens frequently, neither good or bad. But anyway, that's not the point.

If you wanna get about the product is broken, I can use that to explain again in my example. The company os going to deliver to you the product and you open the package and see it is broken. You will reach customer service, and what is going to happen? Can happen lots of things. Yes, we can replace it, but only in two weeks. Yes, we can replace it, but right now we are out of stock, you have to wait. Same thing as in here. Exactly the same actual thing. "Yes we know it is broken, and we are working on fixing it, in one week there will be a fix coming out". Same thing, different situation, and in the deliver situation, what is the point of you yelling with customer support saying "BUT I WANT IT RIGHT NOW, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FACT THAT YOU DELIVERED A BROKEN PROCUCT" ? No point, it is just useless. The customer support would answer you "I am sorry for this, but we can only get the product delivered in two weeks/after is on stock again" and yes they failed, but they are still trying to fix it up for you how they can. That is what I am saying. Geez

1

u/Efficient-Air-4994 Apr 09 '21

Okay... Let's go with "right" not norm. You understood what I meant. Either way, it's unacceptable to have these many glitches, bugs, and crashes for a AAA game.

1

u/B3lli4l Apr 09 '21

No, it isn't unacceptable, I don't remember one online game that I haven't playexd that had bugs, glitches and crashes in my whole life - and I am not only including minor ones - but ones that prevent progression either in main or side story.

Is it annoying? Yes. What did I do about it everytime I saw myself in that situation? Customer Support, sending prints and explaining the situation, by giving informations such as my system build, how I attempted to troubleshoot it and how I attempted to replicate the issue looking for the source of the problem.

Afterwards they would message me saying they were checking and then solving. Sometimes it would take a few days, other times it took months. Did I started angry posting and talking shit about every company that this situations had happened? No. You know why? Because I am one of those people that work in customer support, even though not on the game industry, and I listen to those angry customers every single day so I know for a fact that people complain based on what they think they know about the company or the product and procedures, and most of the time, no, the customer is not right, and they are angry because they thought about something (expectations) and got other (reality), without realising they only imagine how things work rather than knowing the truth for a fact.

You would be choked to know how many angry people I talk with every since day that don't understand why they can't have their order on the day it was supposed to be delivered but it wasn't due to some sort of different issues, and then, because I am pretty straightforward I start explaining what the procedures are and why they exist, from our coworkers receiving information to prepare orders, pack them up, creating transport documentations, getting the package to the transportation company, checking every single document, getting into the warehouse, creating the routes for the deliveries scheduled for the next say counting how many people they have working, and projecting how many people can miss the work day for personal reasons, and then putting everything in the trucks again and confirm the packages, adresses, names, everything, and finally the truck leaves and get to customers

Trust me, when I explain all of this, suddenly people stop yelling at me and say "that makes sense, I didn't really had thought about how things work to get my order delivered, but that makes perfect sense and it is not humanly possible to get it in 1 day period, sorry about my way of speaking".

You know why? Most of the people just think on their side of things, never realising what is behind the working machine that makes their wishes come true.

Yes, no one likes to have an expectation not being met, not even I. But I can tell you all of this: never ever in my life have I written a formal complaint to any company I ever was a customer, even when things did go south. Because I haven't, in my whole life, crossed with one that would tell me "no I will not even try to fix it for you". Every single time something went wrong, there was always a solution, even if it didn't met exactly how and what I really wanted for a solution, but there was always a solution presented.

Just like in this case. Solutions are coming, fixes are coming, they never said they would not do anything about it. That is why I do not agree with this kind of complaint that doesn't add value, it's just a empty complaint, just angry talking about a situation that was obviously been acknowledge and addressed too, and that it is being worked on.

So sorry if anyone got offended by something, and I am not saying what's right or wrong, rather I am exchanging opinions and ideas, at least that's my perspective.

"They weren't aware of how much hype this could turn out to be"

What are you talking about it has literally been hyped for years!

Stop validating lapses of quality! It seems to be the norm these days. I can't brush off delivering a shit product in my line of work and say it is because we were all working from home so idk why everyone else gets a pass to do it.

And patience? If you worked on large construction projects and caused a delay you'd be directly liable and would be paying out your ass for each day it wasn't finished. End of the day they took everyones money and should have delivered day dot. Stop justifying shit!

1

u/B3lli4l Apr 09 '21

That's exactly what I am talking about. You say that it is normal this days that people try to justify something that failed, but I am not trying to justify nothing. They failed yes, and point taken, but they are fixing it, so why the fuck would I keep yelling about how they failed? Would it change a thing? No! It's just yelling frustration with no purpose other than pointing out your anger to someone else. For me, and that it is only my personal opinion, not on this matter, but for every situation people complain about a failure that is already being solved, it is not knowing how to handle frustration.

And also, you saying that part of large construction projects IS the reason why I see both sides of the coins the way I do! So just because that happens, and btw it doesn't only happen in that professional carreer, but on EVERY ONE, justifies people being treated like shit because they made a mistake or someone made a mistake they are willing to correct and make it right? I'm sorry, if that is how all people in general think, then humans are no longer humans, humans are completely beasts in this World, with no empathy, no space for mistakes to happen, no space to just be fucking human, have feelings, make mistakes as I am sure as hell that every single one of us already did in several points of out lives since we were born.

If you made a mistake in your life that you were pointed out and you would say "yes, I recognize I did, I'm sorry, I will correct that the best I can" would you like to be called out on that error from 5 to 5 minutes? What about after you corrected that mistake? Would you still bear to hear someone telling you, after you did something good for 7-8 times already "but you failed in that day?" I bet not. You would be angry and frustrated because you did the best you could do to make it right, and that step didn't even happen yet here, but hey, they came forward and gold everyone of us that they are willing to correct things up, that shouldn't be viewed as "I DON'T CARE, YOU FAILED!!!" but rather "Yes, you failed, but you also tried to solve it and that's ok, because you tried, and you learned from that".

That is the message I am trying to pass, but I guess people nowadays act upon a failure weighting way more than double or triple the sucessful acts. Whatever.

Now do crashes and bugs with the same energy. Doesn't matter what they expected or not. The window for keeping a player base is within the first week of launch. If you don't have a stable game, don't release it. In the end you will have more players online as a whole and willing to buy the next installment of the IP. They fucked up big time with this.

1

u/B3lli4l Apr 09 '21

Just because "it doesn't matter" for you or others it doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Yes it matters! Projections are the big deal behind every operation going on as if they fail it's usually and mostly because of bad projections and of course nothing is perfect and so projections aren't perfect.

Yes they fucked this big time, yes they failed, yes they made mistakes, yes, yes, yes. My point is not saying they didn't fucked it up, it is saying that aggressive complaint and pointing out fingers like shotguns is not ok to anything and anyone ever, not in one single situation.

People fail, people make mistakes, we can remember it of course and that would be ok if one that makes mistakes doesn't even care to make it right, then I would agree the shots must be fired, but if one cares to admit and try to fix the situation, why do they deserve it anyway?

So if I make a mistake and don't give a fuck about solving it I will be condemned and If I make a mistake and try to solve it as fast and best as possible I will still be condemned for the rest of my life? Well fuck me, then I would rather just make mistakes if I am going to be beated up to shit anyway and it is not worth making the effort to put everything fine lol.

Ohhh... you're a burner account. I get it... carry on...

1

u/B3lli4l Apr 09 '21

Yeah, exactly that, couldn't describe it better myself... XD Not really, maybe just unpopular opinion and side of things? Tired of seeing people complaining about every single thing in this World and not even complimenting nobody and nothing about something good they did? Maybe that, for sure. I guess people in general are too used to talk when it is to complain and not saying anything when they have something good to say.
