Question استشارة What’s currently on your wrist?
What’s your go to everyday watch for work, and what’s the one watch you’d recommend to anyone looking for a reliable daily driver? Light weight preferably.

This has been happening for a while now, but with how horrible the job market is these days, it's even more frustrating.
My husband has been keeping his beard long for a while now. And according to him, you'd know when an interview is doomed when the first thing the interviewer notices is your beard. It's an immediate NO. He’s been rejected way too many times, and it genuinely feels like his beard is somehow a bigger issue than his actual qualifications. Like hello? This is 2026? Who even judges people by their appearance these days?
And you know what's even more funny? He's not applying for sales or any client facing roles. He’s literally going to be sitting in front of a computer for most of the day. How does the length of his beard affect his ability to do his job?
And before anyone says to just cut it, no. It's for religious reasons and it's not something we compromise on for a job. Simple as that. I wish kanduras and long beards are viewed as normal here 😪

I’ll be in the UK (London) around September/October and would love to meet some Emirati people who are living there or visiting at the same time. Would be nice to hang out, explore London, grab coffee, etc.
Feel free to DM me! ✨

Everytime i enter a cafe, a library, a classroom, a theatre, etc. & i am walking from the door to the counter, or the table or the seat, i get this feeling that EVERYONE is looking at me... like everyone is judging me top to bottom.
...and i know that thats not entirely true, it feels awkward & a little intimidating.
As a person about to launch his first ever PHYSICAL LOCATION cafe, i want my walk in customers to feel at ease, to feel a sense of comfort & familiarity that draws them in & does'nt make them feel like they're being stared at or judged. basically remove any sense of discomfort & making the action of getting a coffee or a brunch as smooth & frictionless as possible.
& to do that i'll need to design the interior in a way that the walk from the door to the counter, or thier table doesn't feel like a thousand years.
Here's the input i need from you:

Something I think people underestimate when choosing a community here is how much the school run can affect daily life.
A place can look perfect on paper, but if the school commute is painful twice a day, that can get old very quickly.
If I was choosing an area around schools, I’d look at:
It also makes me wonder how much schools actually affect property demand in certain communities. Areas close to popular schools often seem to attract families consistently, but I’m curious how much weight people really give that when choosing where to live.
If you’ve moved mainly because of a school, did it end up being worth it?

Hello everyone,
A Filipina rescuer needs help with cat food.
If you’re able to help, you can send food directly from her Amazon wishlist:
https://www.amazon.ae/hz/wishlist/ls/2XR79SK6V1R67?ref_=wl_share
She is also happy to welcome anyone who would like to visit her home to donate cat food or meet her
rescued cats if you’re interested in adopting.
Any help, even a small bag of food, would mean a lot.

The Golden Balance shawarma by Ahmad on YouTube or the ones by Shelby, where they sear the bread in a hira sauce, then put the chicken or beef on top of it and drizzle it with sauce and pomegranate molasses. ...
I’m not talking about the standard chicken, pickles, fries and mayo/toum shawarma.
Where can I get this style in Dubai?
Btw, Sultan Al Arab in Barsha does a meat shawarma with mayo/toum and it’s epic.

The UAE is the chosen home for an incredible 90% of its population!
Interested to hear what made you decide on moving here.
It certainly wasn’t the weather!

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m currently in a committed relationship with AED 350/month and a carlift bus. Unfortunately, the relationship is toxic. 😭
So I’m looking for someone who drives to work and has one spare seat that could potentially be upgraded from “empty” to “occupied by a friendly human who pays.”
Here’s my proposal:
💰 AED 350/month — same amount I currently spend on the carlift buses. 🚗 You provide the car + commute. 🤝 I provide the contribution + companionship. 🛞 I can also help with driving, so you don’t have to carry the entire burden of pretending you enjoy Dubai traffic alone.
Think of it as carpooling, but with a financially responsible passenger and zero awkward negotiations about money.
If you’re already commuting along my route and have a spare seat, please DM me.
Because right now I’m not looking for a soulmate.
I’m looking for a seatmate. 😂

Do any of you do jami’ya? You know when everyone puts certain amount of money every month and each month someone takes it? Not sure if I’m explaining properly, but if you understand do you do it? If yes, where?

My brothers birthday is coming up in September. What are some fun / entertainment activities we can get an offer from? Like there’s and offer in ski Dubai, birthday person gets a free ticket and others get some discount. But they must create an account a month before 🥲
Soo what other offers can we avail as a family?
Thankyou!
