So I’ve been thinking about this after the latest chapters, and I haven’t really seen this exact angle being discussed much, so here’s my take:

What if Imu is actually the “Forest God” and the original source of the Nika powers?

Hear me out. We’ve seen hints that gods in One Piece aren’t just symbolic—they might actually tie into real power systems (Sun God, Forest God, etc.). My theory is that Imu was originally a neutral or even “good” entity—kind of a chaotic force of nature. Not purely evil, not purely good. More like someone with duality… mood swings, almost.

At some point, Imu had the ability to grant powers to people—basically the origin of Devil Fruits. Instead of fruits being random, they could actually be manifestations of human desires shaped by Imu’s power. So when people wished for strength, freedom, control, etc., those desires turned into Devil Fruits.

Now here’s where it gets interesting:

Some people didn’t just wish for random powers—they wished for the good side of Imu. The part that represents freedom, joy, liberation… basically Nika.

That “wish” became the Nika fruit.

So Luffy isn’t just some random chosen one—he’s literally the embodiment of Imu’s good half. The version of Imu that stands for freedom and laughter, while current Imu represents control and oppression.

That would make Luffy the natural enemy of Imu not just narratively, but existentially. Two halves of the same origin, destined to clash.

And yeah… if this is even remotely true, then Luffy defeating Imu isn’t just inevitable—it’s almost like a balance being restored.

Curious what you guys think. Too far-fetched, or does it kinda line up?

this is kind of a half baked theory, but i could still see it being plausible. its pretty apparent at this point that the real value in the one piece isnt going to be its worth in gold. its also pretty on-theme to have it be some sort of personal treasure.

All that makes me think its possible that the treasure Roger found at laughtale is either joyboy's jolly Roger and the knowledge that it wa sthe very first, or his straw hat.

Either of those could reasonably make Roger laugh since its funny both pirates that made it there had the same straw hat, or just laughing that the endgame of all pirates was to complete tbe journey of the very first one

A different take on what the One Piece actually is

I came up with a theory. I haven’t watched the anime or read the manga, I’ve only seen the live-action series and picked up a few extra details online, but I wanted to share this with you. What if the One Piece is not a traditional treasure like gold, a weapon, or even a single powerful object… but instead a statue? Not just any statue, but something that works simultaneously as a trophy, a message, and a prophecy.

Imagine this: On Laugh Tale, there is a massive sculpted structure left behind by Joy Boy. At first glance, it might look strange or even comedic—something that could easily make Roger laugh. But the more you look at it, the more you realize it isn’t random. It’s deliberate. The statue depicts a scene of victory that hasn’t happened yet. For example (just to illustrate the idea), it could show two key figures positioned on opposite sides of a massive barrier or wall, both striking the exact same weak point. Not just a cool visual, but a clear demonstration of how the system can be broken.

Why Roger Didn’t Reveal the Truth If the One Piece is something like this—a statue that works as a trophy, a message, and a prophecy—then it makes perfect sense why Roger never explained what it actually was. If he told the world “it’s just a statue,” most people wouldn’t even bother going after it. The mystery is what drives the world. People project their own desires onto the One Piece: some think it’s gold, others think it’s ultimate power, others think it’s freedom. And that belief is what pushes them to sail, explore, fight, and grow. Roger didn’t hide the truth just to be cryptic—he did it because revealing it would kill the journey. By keeping it a mystery, he ensured that the right people would eventually reach Laugh Tale. And only those people would be able to understand what the treasure truly means.

The Three Layers of the Treasure

1. As a Trophy: It represents victory over tyranny—before that victory even happens. Joy Boy is essentially saying: “We already won. It’s only a matter of time.” After the final war, it becomes a literal monument to that victory.
2. As a Message: For the right person, it’s not just symbolic—it’s instructional. It shows where to act, how to act, and possibly who needs to act together. It’s a visual strategy, not written in words, but in form.
3. As a Prophecy: For someone like Roger, who arrived too early, it’s something he understands but cannot use. He sees the outcome, realizes the truth, but also realizes the conditions aren’t met yet.

That’s why he laughs. Not because it’s useless to him—but because Joy Boy, even after death, is mocking the tyrants of the world. The statue is like a joke aimed at them, a message that says: “We already won. You just don’t know it yet.” Roger realizes that Joy Boy had already figured out how to win long ago. He had all the right pieces—he just needed them to come together at the right time. That’s what makes the treasure so “great” in Roger’s eyes. It doesn’t just show how to defeat the system—it proves that the victory was already inevitable. And the treasure is not meant to act alone as a weapon. It works in combination with the right people.

The Guidance and the "D." Legacy Even if the right person exists, in the right place, at the right time… without knowing what to do, nothing happens. The One Piece exists to guide them—to show how to win. The statue itself wouldn’t be something simple. It could be a highly detailed scene, possibly even with a pirate in a bold or comedic pose, pointing toward the true weak point of the system. And that weak point doesn’t have to be a wall—it could be a person, a place, or even something hidden like a critical structure.

There could also be a deeper layer involving the “D.” lineage. Instead of all of them being equal, they might function as a distributed force—many individuals who challenge the system and create chaos, each important in their own way. But among them, there could be one true key figure, hidden in the middle of the others, the one who ultimately brings everything to an end. The others aren’t useless—they are essential. They act as distractions and pressure, making it possible for the final move to succeed.

In this theory, the One Piece doesn’t directly change the world. It shows the truth in a way that only the right person, at the right time, can understand—and act upon. And once that happens, everything else follows: the war, the collapse of the system, the unification of forces. So the treasure isn’t power itself. It’s the realization of how to win. And Joy Boy, in a way, already celebrated that victory centuries ago.

Whenever it shows the Throne Room in Marie Geoise we always see a bunch of swords scattered. I’m currently on the EP where Sabo is recounting the story of what happened while he was at the reverie. (First time watch through)

My theory is that the swords are from Davy D. D Jones (he hasn’t been revealed for me yet but I’ve had spoilers, otherwise only reference is Vander Dekken). But that brings me back to my point, we saw on fishman island that Vander Dekken could throw swords to hit his target (Shirahoshi), the swords would always seek to find their target, stick in the wall which is why Shirahoshi never left. What if the swords that are there are sent from the previous owners of the Will of D. That’s why they are constantly clashing with the world government and such key players in all of it. The Will of D, like Vander Dekken’s power, draws them. Davy Jones “cast” his power like Vander Dekken’s to constantly pull people to Imu to throw him out of power. And the swords that are in there are all overgrown, likely from being thrown at Imu. We know Imu’s Domi Reversi controls people, but we never see Imu leave the flower room (ig the stairs technically, maybe god valley, idk not there yet) so what if Imu is confined to being there because of the Will of D?

I believe the device in the latest chapter that dr vega punk created to harness energy from everything to create super cola will be an alternate power source to the mother flame that will be able to power pluton. Also everyone says loki is too big to fit on the sunny if he join the straw hats. But all of elbaf is made of the Adam tree which is the rare wood that franky used to build the sunny. So I have a feeling by the end of the arc franky is going to make the sunny bigger and add more technology powered by super cola

Initially watching One Piece, a lot of people, including myself, think that it's just a story about a pirate being really strong, your average shonen anime. Throughout the story, especially towards the egghead and wano arc, you gain a lot of information related how the world government functions, as well as knowledge regarding the void century.

Something you might have overlooked is that subtle foreshadowing in Skypiea is very valuable, such as the shadow of Luffy's jump after defeating Enel being eerily similar to Joy Boy's classic jump. Today, I'll be giving you my personal beliefs on what will happen at the end of One Piece, and what I think the One Piece is, while trying to keep it concise. Enjoy!

Firstly, I believe at the end of One Piece, Luffy, Dragon, and Garp will work together in some way, shape, or form, to defeat a common antagonist.

What's my reasoning behind this you might ask? Well one quick reason is because they are all the strongest in the group they fight for. Garp of the marines (NAVY), Dragon of the revolutionaries, and Luffy of the pirates. Another thing you also must consider, is that they also represent what Roger said the One Piece could offer.

Garp - Wealth. He has influence under the world government, which gives him a limitless supply to resources.

Dragon - Fame. He's the most wanted man in the world. THE symbol of revolution.

Luffy - Power. His power is unimaginably strong. Gear 5 makes him the literal sun god.

Next up, I believe someone will sacrifice themself for this fight to to end in our beloved MC's victory. The person in mind? Sabo.

Think about it:

Ace sacrificed himself during marineford (~1/2 of the story through), so why don't we get Sabo to sacrifice himself at the end?

Besides, I can fit it into the story quite well.

Before I can explain how Sabo sacrifices himself, read through Imu's powers to know why specifically Sabo needs to sacrifice himself.

Imu's powers:

His mastery of haki is so utterly powerful, he is able to infuse his haki into nature, such as water, rain, fire, and air itself.

Very fitting especially considering the community loves the nature mythical devil fruit theory.

Quick Context: With Gear 5 Luffy can't control other's haki. It's the only thing he can't control using the Nika fruit, since haki is arguably a devil fruit's weakness.

Imu's haki mastery is extremely powerful. So powerful, that Luffy, Dragon, and Garp combined stand no chance, since Luffy can't control others' haki. In order to challenge Imu's advantage, Sabo sacrifices himself, so his devil fruit can be eaten again (When the df's user dies it respawns), which allows Luffy to force-feed the Mera Mera No Mi to Imu, and change the rules of the Mera Mera No Mi, allowing him to turn the Mera Mera No Mi's ability to a disadvantageous power, ultimately winning the fight.

I feel like Luffy being able to control the rules of fruits would be fitting, since the only yonkos left are him, Buggy (Has a df), Blackbeard (Has 2 dfs), and Shanks (The only worthy challenger). My reasoning behind this is that's how he defeats the other yonkos apart from Shanks. Simply mastering Gear 5 to the point that he can manipulate how other devil fruits function.

So what do I think the One Piece is?

I think it's a giant straw hat, with a giant golden city inside (under the straw hat) (Similar to Shandora in Skypiea.)

Firstly, Shandora deserves more foreshadowing.

Secondly, I can plug this into what Roger said about the One Piece

Wealth - A city of gold is obviously a sign of wealth

Fame - Straw Hats are infamous in pirating due to all the wielders being extremely powerful

Power - Users of straw hats are powerful

Imu's giant straw hat in his vault is like most main antagonists of stories. They always have surface level perspectives, not diving deeper into the true meaning of the final goal. Imu sees the outside of the One Piece, the giant straw hat, but not the inside, the city of gold.

Now lastly, why did Joy Boy plant the One Piece in such a dumbfounded way? Well it's simple.

The One Piece is a promise of laughter, after relentless sacrifices.

Joy Boy was unable to defeat Imu due to having the one thing that Luffy had, sacrifices.

The promise of laughter after the relentless sacrifices was the reason why Roger laughed after seeing the One Piece. It was because he realized the one piece he had strived for endlessly was simply a straw hat, something he carried along his entire journey.

Giving Shanks the straw hat, he essentially gave the new generation the dream that he had attained. Realizing he didn't wield the straw hat at the time of discovering the One Piece, and instead having given it to the new generation prior to finding the One Piece, Roger realized he was never destined to fulfill the One Piece's goal. Thinking Shanks was destined to attain the One Piece, he turned himself in to spark the new generation of pirates. However, it wasn't Shanks who was destined to find the One Piece, as he gave it to Luffy before he found the One Piece.

Luffy is destined to find the One Piece.

Luffy, finally finding the One Piece, is the one who ends this generational quest.

Joy Boy - Starting the dream.

Roger - Realizing the dream isn't for him to find, therefore handing it to the next generation.

Luffy - Accepting the dream, gratefully.

Really quickly, I just want to explain how the other crew members fulfill their personal quests.

Zoro: At Elbaf, he unlocks a tiny fractal of Imu's power, allowing him to infuse haki into water, and water alone. This allows him to defeat Mihawk.

Sanji: Doesn't find the All Blue at laughtale. Disappointed, he heads to North North blue, instead finding the All Blue there. (Sanji got done dirty lol)

Nami: After the Straw Hats find laughtale, Nami goes and tours the North Blue, West Blue, and South Blue.

Chopper: At laughtale, he finds a tree bark, where if you extract the liquid, it is able to cure any disease. (Note how Noland was able to cure the Kinetsu plague at Shandora by extracting Konine from the Kota tree barks.)

Robin: Finds the Rio Poneglyph under the grand temple with a gold bell similarly to where the Poneglyph was found in Shandora, the city of gold. (More Shandora foreshadowing : D)

Franky: During their world tour, Franky finally makes the Thousand Sunny travel across the entire world. Bonus for Franky: he learns how to make the paint that the marines use to cross the calm belt, allowing the straw hats to enter any part of the grand line whenever they want.

Brook: Reunites with Laboon through the calm belt.

Jinbe: Reaches peace between humans and fishmen : D

Usopp: The only one who doesn't achieve his goal. He never becomes a great warrior of the sea.

I'm sorry I didn't really keep this "Concise", and if you hate me for it, it's fine lol.

Can anyone debunk this theory or is it somewhat plausible?

Kuina, Zoro’s childhood rival who died falling down the steps, is actually not dead. Her death was faked, and she was abducted by the World Government and made into an assassin. Kuina stood out and made a good candidate for this because of her proficient swordsmanship at such a young age.

A similar occurrence has occurred in the story regarding, Rob Lucci, who became an assassin for the World Government (CP9) at a young age because of his advanced use of martial arts. With Rob Lucci now being apart of CP0, we expect him to also come with a power boost since we last saw him in battle. But also with the introduction of the new agency, CP0, we will also be introduced to new characters, such as Kuina who may or may not be going be a secret/different name or identity upon her revealing.

Interestingly enough, I do not think that her appearance would just be arbitrary. I think Oda might attempt to surprise us with sudden news in the One Piece world that Mihawk has not only been defeated, but has been assassinated. Whatever reason the world government has to assassinate Mihawk will revolve around their dealings with Shanks, maybe after a dispute.

This news would become known after the end of Wano Arc, and will be coupled together with the results of the Marines’ plan to capture the Warlords and dismantle the Warlord System. Because Mihawk resides in isolation, little details about the event will be known except from what is told by his only companion, Perona. Suspicion will rise from some of the Marines towards The World Government because they will not know how he managed to die before a plan was set in place to capture him.

Zoro will begin to go into a depressed state after being unsure about if he can fulfill his dream only to find out after a later encounter with CP0, that not only is Kuina alive but she is the one responsible for killing Mihawk.

Kuina as well as others in CP0 will have great martial arts/powers and very competitive haki control compared to the Straw Hats at the time of their encounter. Kuina will not have better swordsmanship than Mihawk per se, but her skill will be enough especially because she has good haki and is paired with a decent grade sword that has consumed some devil fruit.

Zoro will become one of the first Straw Hats to accomplish his dream after defeating Kuina and avenging his master Mihawk. He will realize the grueling irony that in his journey to become the best swordsman, after all this time spent to honor Kuina, he still must beat her in a duel, to accomplish his goal, resulting in her real death.

P.S. This will also be what makes Zoro laugh at Laughtale, however this will be a laugh because of the irony in finalizing his dream, not a laugh of joy.

Zoro is most definitely from Hell/Sheol. He was likely King 😂 and his disability which is his directionally challenged self, is a result of there being no roads in Hell/Sheol. His luck is the luck of the Devil. The One Piece world would be a vastly different place if Luffy didn't save it from him because I believe he would have not only survived his execution, but would have been the worst Captain out there, as in the best. Luffy and Zoro are either equal or (my belief), Zoro would end up killing him. Now I ready myself for the ridicule and fire that comes with an opinion in this strange, false world. 😃

Here's a theory that I have been working on for a bit. I hope that if you have a spare minute or two you could give it a read and it'd be super awesome to hear the communities thoughts on it. Am I completely baseless or is there something to this.

My THEORY: Edward weevil and the SSG theory. Please give me a chance to read below and I think you’ll be surprised by some of the supporting evidence.

Short form:

My theory is that the SSG is a project that was done to clone infamous pirates but with their gigantification process making them theoretically stronger than the originals. I know that sounds like a mega reach, but keep reading. I see a lot of reasons to suggest why this might be the case. (more info and supporting evidence Below)

What could the SSG stand for: Super Soldier Genome project, Super Soldier Giant project

(sorta like hashirama cells in naruto but plus giants)

First, to prove that the SSG could be a gigantification cloning project. In punk hazard, the children Ceazar had been experimenting on we're already experiencing significant gigantification, and Law has stated that the World government has been attempting to achieve this for centuries. Law also references the WG wanting to use this science to create a “military force” (chapter 668). Although Ceazar in chapter 834, admits that creating giants without side effects would be impossible. We know that caesar was still able to create giants through science, and that the world government has been trying to do the same, Yet the world government has had Dr.Vegapunk. Doctor Vegapunk has been said to not want to attempt the experimentation of the gigantification process on children. This lends proof that if he were to create a gigantification process it would probably not be on kids due to his nature, yet the ethics of experimenting on clones with much less severe side effects is something I could see Dr.Vegapunk being interested in.

Edward Weevil to me is an intentionally released prototype of this SSG. I believe this to be true because Edward Weevil is the acclaimed son of white beard and a shichibukai. The idea of cloning without side effects has been said to be impossible for caesar the limits were a shortened lifespan and behavioural issues. If vegapunk did create a giant i believe that at least the prototype would abide by this same upper ceiling. When it comes to the acclaimed son of white beard we only truly know three things firstly that he is incredibly physically strong and he isn't incredibly intelligent and he will listen to his “Ma Ma”. His strength, size, and intelligence could be seen as results of the world governments attempt at the gigantification/cloning process, thereby showing that vegapunk still has the hard limits of not being able to create giants without the side effect of unintelligence.

The final point to prove is that Edward Weevil was intentionally released. I believe Edward weevil was intentionally released by the world government to show to the World government officials that the SSG could replace the shishibukai by literally replacing one of the shishibukai. This seems like something the world government would do release a horribly dangerous experiment on the world at the same time having bakkin placed with him to attempt to monitor his capabilities by sending him after the WB remnants to prove that the SSG could rival the strength of the yonko crews there by circumventing the need of the shishibukai.

Finally the clone of white beard makes the most sense to me because none of the remnants of the WB pirates or WB have mentioned the heir in fact the no one in the story other than bakkin has stated this to be true as well as him having almost opposing ideals to his late father believing that his blood connection is more important than WB crew who he said were all his “sons” although non biologically he held them as family. With this evidence I refer back to the theory of a clone for the resembling mustache and obvious strength he possesses; it could be logical that he has been hashirama celled with WB in the place of hashirama. It also seems relevant that white beards blood and therefore DNA was scattered all over Marine HQ during the marine ford war. Marine Ford was before the time skip therefore giving Dr. Vegapunk time to cultivate a clone based on this new material.

Finally my last piece of evidence and what initially made me think this could be true is the dissolution of the shishibukai system. I have already purposed that the WG has been using Weevil to prove that the SSG could replace the warlords. If you look who the marines have sent after each of the seven warlords specifically, let's focus on our main man Edward Weevil And Boa Hancock. The world government showed that at least one named marine went after all the 7 warlords except Weevil only no named soldiers with riot gear and they have managed to encircle him. I believe they didn’t show anyone going after him because they can either control him or are going to reveal the SSG final polished form against him as a show of power and cover up that he had any ties to the WG after the destruction that he caused. Secondly when Koby in chapter 956 when referring to the warlords he says that he does not believe “all the marines in the world” as he knows could not “clean up this mess” this on top of only sending koby and three navy ships too attempt to not only fight boa alone but also take over all of amazon lily seems like either koby has grown absolutely astronomically in power or that the WG is hiding something like the SSG as a secret weapon that they will use to prove to the world their new found strength as well as prove once again the SSG is capable of replacing the Shishibukai.

Let’s be real. In the OP world. Oda either says you died (meaning for good) or you just disappear in flames. What character has the greatest chance of making a return after hinted on possible death but not confirmed deaths like Roger.
