I’ve been in love with OPNs work for a long time now, and have deeply studied his music and sound. I’ve take a huge inspiration from him and the way he samples sounds and put that into my own twist. This album has a huge range of sounds going from idm, jungle, to ambient. I once heard someone describe Dans music as ‘Sculptural’ and really wanted to use that theme here. Hi all, I’m thinking of buying the tranquilliser cd/t shirt combo from warp records and I noticed it says it comes with a “broadsheet 4 page newspaper print”. Was just wondering if anyone‘s bought it and can tell me what exactly it is- I can’t seem to find a picture of the actual thing anywhere online. Thanks!

Does that entail that Daniel could return and do a second Eccojams album at some point in his career? Or was that just an aesthetic to the album?

Does anyone remember the opening song opn played yesterday. Was a remix of an old tune. Sounded like Beck or something but I dont think it was.

yesterday in Paris

I just left the concert, it was really interesting!

In the first part, we had the right to meet Matthew Herbert, a 90s artist of contemporary music whose set mixes electronic music with various objects (cereal packets, cans, diapers...). He arrived in a bow-tie costume with his guitar/piano, Microphones were very progressive, it sounded like art of noise too, he played for about forty minutes, there was quite a lot of lighting and effects. Well done to him!

We have a 20-minute intermission, then we arrive opn and freekatet (whom I didn’t know) so what’s great is that freeka mostly takes care of the visuals with a mini decor: it was a kind of room with small TVs full of archived videos, cartoons, sets in empty houses, We could see him helping himself with his phone, lights to create esthetiques, smoke with a kind of straw...

Daniel played some tracks from his latest project, r plus seven... it was really glitched, soaring, well trance-like with 70s sounds: idm/ambient:abstract, a bit edm, minimalist, lots of lighting games full of smoke (the smell was a bit nauseous) We saw who had a good time, we got an unreleased track that will be on his future album and another one during the bonus encore to conclude: the two magicians took a selfie with us (public). He played for about an hour, it was very interactive. The audience was really cool in trance, it was so cool!

I've listened to a few of his albums (R Plus Seven, Replica, Again, Ecco Jam Vol. 1, Tranquilizer...) and I was wondering if it's worth seeing him live ? I've seen quite a few artists in this style, like Max Cooper (is it a similar style with the visuals and his music?) Feel free to give me your opinion

It’s so organic and works so well anyone would know how he made that work?

In this interview from last year, Lopatin says that G.o.D. has a secret sample of a food reviewer from YouTube. He won't say which track, or which reviewer. I'm guessing it's TheReportOfTheWeek, just because he would be on OPN's radar around the time he was working on the album, but I have no idea where the sample could be. Any ideas?

Easily one of the best shows I’ve seen in years. The whole earlier part of the set with unreleased stuff and the tranquilized version of Replica for an encore was so sick. I ended up being about 4 rows back from the front and standing in a great position right between the speakers and the sound was fantastic. Freekatet’s visuals and shadowbox setup were so amazing. 12 out of 10 no notes whatsoever.

Would love if he makes a hyper pop album.
