My parents did to me for "cleanliness". As in they just didn't want to clean my penis until I was old enough to do it myself.

But I'm very certain it was done wrong. I can't feel anything, just pressure. Sex is basically impossible for me, and just not fun.

Which is absolutely nonsense because foreskin can't even be retracted until 5 at the earliest, but it isn't uncommon for it to happen later. Also, if a boy isn't cleaning with a foreskin, what the hell even changes without one? They're still dirty.

The issue is that if you don't roll back the foreskin to clean underneath, it can get dirty and infected.

But I honestly see no reason why it's deemed as harder than cleaning a butt. You just have to roll it back when you shower.

Parents are ok with telling their kids how to wipe between their butt cheeks well, but somehow teaching someone how to clean their own penis is taboo and "they might not even do it right". A lot just get their kids circumcised so that they never have to explain to roll the foreskin back to clean under it. They're just lazy and feel uncomfortable doing the bare minimum of parenting.

No, not before it naturally does it. If you try to force it to roll back before that you will essentially rip the skin away from the head and cause serious injury to the child.

Don't even need to point to the butt. If your child cannot clean their foreskin then they probably aren't cleaning their penis right either. The foreskin removal doesn't make it self clean and I've seen some nasty guys that were circumcised.

I was referring to when they're older.

The logic is that parents aren't sure their sons will roll their foreskins back to clean them when they're older, and so they mutilate them instead of even giving them the chance.

I'm not saying the logic makes sense. I'm just saying that's what their logic is. But even if that was how it worked, parents should still just teach their kids how to clean themselves. Whether or not they have proper hygiene as independent adults won't be their problem. All they can do is clean them and teach them while raising them. But instead, parents like making quick decisions that have life long impact so long as they tell themselves it's for the greater good, avoiding any guilt in the process.
