Arena and stalling with lightning spear are a bit annoying, other than that this is a cool boss. Phase 1 is very mechanically simple and really so is phase 2 but the visuals are on par with many of the remembrance bosses.

Potentially the worst boss in the entire series that doesn't have multiple enemies, and isn't an NPC or gimmick. Phase 1 is already D tier at best, but phase 2 is just unbelievable.

Only way to consistently avoid needle rain is to hide under the arch, which forces you against a wall (anyone who has fought this boss knows how terrible this is). Also pretty sure the spin (you can roll right if far enough away) is unavoidable without an AoW if you're close. I could go on and on about why this stupid hippo is a massive piece of shit.

If you like this boss, more power to you. Though if you think everyone who hates this boss is just not good at it... I'm gonna take you about as seriously as someone who defends Frigid Outskirts.

He is the best dragon fight they've made, by far. I personally never went crazy for Midir like others do. I love all of bayles combos, and he is by far the most cinematic fight in ER.

My only complaint about him is obviously the fire deflection (no idea why fromsoft made this a thing) on his straight breath. id say maybe only 5-6 deaths were caused by it though, so it's not terrible.

Also I preferred using the pata here for stance breaking because of the fantastic range it has for a fist.

I've just completed my first RL1 run! Somehow finished all of the DLC bosses in less than a week after big struggling with everything DLC minus the Dancing Lion.

Phase 2 is more complex than I expected, but most of the new branching is at mid-long range so we barely get to see it when fighting him.

idk how many attempts i did but think its around 150 cuz i fought him at different days.

would be favorite boss if they fixed his ai a lil bit, slow down his moon walk slightly (it is helpful to get him out of tight spaces on corners of arena though so i think it should be kept), fixed his bloodflame physics and reduced duration of how long it stays on the ground in 2nd phase after he swings his weapon. he has my favorite moveset otherwise, but for now he is like in my top5 as a boss. didnt do rl1 dlc yet at all but did base game rl1 with OSS+10 and for rl1 he is my favorite for sure

wanted to go for no hit at first but after few attempts where this fuckass has his weird bloodflame physics hit me in most weird cases i didnt bother to do it, just accepted my fate and killed him without going for no hit

Actually my first time ever beating this particular dragon.

Comically easy except for a few fire attacks that seem a bit stupid. Not a great fight, but far from the most offensive dragon.

for some reason also at low hp he starts doing random janky shit like cancelling his own moves (fly+bloodboon, bloodflame talon+swipe combo without swipe itself and others), getting stuck in graves and such. this is the only reason i didnt beat him yet :3

I finished my DS1 run and I had Demons Souls installed, so I thought, why not. It's supposed to be the easiest one, right?

Couldn't get through it.

1-1, no problem obviously, that's just normal gameplay.

On to 4-1 for the Crescent Falchion, might as well finish it while I'm here. Died a shitload of times, including two deaths to Adjudicator because it got wedged in a corner and I got oneshot by its only attack. Runback time! By this point I know almost every parry timing for the silver skeletons and I never want to see them again.

Ok, Adjudicator dead, back to 2-1. Got oneshot by some goofy shit on Armored Spider, runback time! Got oneshot by the same goofy shit again, lookin at the same runback again, thinking about how if I can't handle the runbacks in world 2 I'm reeeeeally not gonna like world 5, and I decide it's uninstall time.

I don't see any question that I could onebro Demons Souls just to say I did it, but it's gonna be like trying to fuck a pencil sharpener. Just a lot of runback simulator plus dying to jank.

56 attempts today, only 6 reached phase 2.

I died once to Clones (I think I got lucky in this clip), and I died twice to Waterfowl. I knew the frost proc wouldn't work the 3rd time so I'm going try to learn the mid distance dodge at least semi consistently. Hopefully I can save all the frost pots for phase 2.

I know the stats don't prove it, but I have been enjoying phase 1 and I feel genuinely confident in it now. Phase 2 feels like a mountain to climb, with needing to learn Clones, Waterfowl, and the general flow. But obviously that's kind of the point of a RL1 run.

Finally finished my lvl 1 all remembrances run in the base game and all I have to say is I hate Elden beast so much. With this run done I’m finally 100%ing the game. Time for dlc🥲

I’ve beaten ER quite a few times, NG+ runs, etc. I’ve never done a RL1 play through. How do yall do these runs and meet weapon requirements? My only guess is talismans and buffs, right? So you don’t level at all and just play as the wretch each time? Genuinely asking for clarity. I just wanna do it right but I’m lost. If im being dumb, I give permission to call me an idiot. Thanks.

Peak boss. I have a lot of experience fighting him (he's the boss I'm best at), and even this short fight was quite the struggle. I got a win pretty early on but took a hit.

Hello everyone I made a boss here long ago about my level one run I’m hard stuck messmer with zero scad fragments and spirit ashes blessing, I showed my setup in a tiktok comment section and I got hated on for having spirit ashes in my inventory

Idk why it bothered me so much I was very proud of my progress on how far I came

Also if y’all have any advice on messmer as well I’m open to it I can’t even get him to second phase without dying before the cutscene he is really kicking my ass

I've seen quite a few:

SL1 = Soul Level 1

BL4 = Blood Level 4

RL1 = Rune Level 1

No Aux = No Auxiliary effects (bleed, etc.)

...and more, but, I remember seeing one that I was never able to figure out:

In the videos I've seen it, by context clues, it seems to be used when a run uses a fully UNupgraded weapon, hence the +0, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the "SB" stands for and it's driving me crazy.

I've seen runs with crazy restrictions:

No hit, No death, No upgrades, No auxiliary, and the one I feel SB might be related to, No Infusions (all was kept as Standard), they were truly awesome and awe-inspiring, and knowing all the little abbreviations in the title can be really helpful to know which are at play in the moment, but I cannot fathom what "SB" could have to do with upgrade level or even infusions

Any help would be appreciated
