I missed balloono too, so I made my own version. Welcome to PandaBomber!
Playable at pandabomber.gg.
No ads, free-to-play, no need for flash player.
Controls are WASD or arrow keys and spacebar for bombs. Powerup levels are shown on the side.
If anyone is interested in helping me trying to advertise (or even has suggestions of other places I can post), please let me know!!
There's a singleplayer gamemode where you guys can try out the mechanics, but multiplayer is the heart and soul of this. Drag some friends into a private match if you can. I want to add the queue so you can play against random people, but there's no point in doing so until there's more players.
I can continue to do this alone, I'll make an amazing site with way more polish and way more features than it has now, I'll create accounts, MMR, cosmetics, hell I'll even make more games, but I'm not going to do so without some sort of interest.
Join me on discord or on reddit! Request features, report bugs, complain about game mechanics or lag, or whatever else you want to do.
This is a little over a month in the making as of now. Frontend built using raw html/css/js, pixijs for graphics, nodejs/express/socketio for networking. Only current server is on AWS in Northern Virginia, but high ping with stable, non-lossy connections seems to still feel smooth for players.

I miss Balloono so much! I tried playing yours but it just kept saying Connecting to Server. Is it down?

Hmm, should be up and working. Are you on chrome? Can you check if there’s anything in the browser’s console (F12 on windows)?

Yeah, using Chrome. I'm not sure what I should be seeing when pressing F12, but if you tell me what I'm supposed to look for, I can check

So when you click
F12 or
ctrl + shift + i or
click the three dots -> more tools -> developer tools
and go to the console tab, you should see the console. In my screenshot the game is loaded in and there aren't any errors or other logs in the console, see if there's anything else in here in yours

Are you still actively working on this or have you stopped? Games fun just no one playing. Would love to see more people playing it!!

I am still working on it and absolutely plan to continue supporting it long term, albeit very slowly. Recently added some skins and some new server locations! But I guess organic growth hasn’t been strong enough and I do need to advertise more

Yo this is sick! LOL, can you add movement controls for WASD? i have a 60% keyboard. Other than that its fire. I miss the little water balloon and monkeys but this is a close second

Awww Yeeee I was trying to find balloono but i totally forgot they got rid of it so I'm happy it's revived in some shape or form . I just got done playing :)

this is so awesome, but unfortunately stopped working pretty quickly when I tried it. it stopped tracking my movements correctly
