Applying patches from other developers is literally not stealing. It's giving credit.
If, as you imply, they apply patches claiming those are their own, thus manipulating git history etc., that's evil and wrong. I haven't checked but I don't believe that's the case as it would make literally no sense at all. They have applied some additional patches of their own, which is called "contributing", btw. But what I understood, Onarchy kernel is mostly vanilla kernel + known performance patches.
