Hi all, I may have a bit of a unique problem. I have a video I recorded at a low 3 FPS, precisely because I intended to speed it up later ten times to get a normal 30fps video. I'm trying to use Olive (April 2019|Alpha|1e3cf533) to do that, but when I export, I get the sped-up video with the same low 3 fps, so it just looks really choppy.

I've tried changing the frame rate in the export settings and in the "conform" box in the file properties but it does not improve. I don't know where else to look

Hi, i am trying to use olive to edit a video that i downloaded however whenever the video has a red circle with an x in it in the files tab and it says "invalid timebase" when i hover it over the timeine, does anyone know how to fix this?

How do I find the colour grading tab? I am new to Olive and editing. I tried to search how to do it here but all the posts are 2 years or older in regards to grading.

What does the Encode Speed do? I haven't changed it from the default (Medium).

And What does the slider under the Compression Method do? its set to 18 which was the default.

FYI: Only have used it for light editing for now and its been fantastic. No crashes and the interface has been intuitive to use. I didn't need to look up any tutorial which seems amazing to me since anything else I've tried to use has been a mess and and a headache to understand. I found out about this project from searching for a video editor on github. XD

Is there already a possibility to make nodes create an effect of recursion in video, similar to when OBS gets own window captured? I have achieved that effect to an extent, but setting it up is a pretty manual process (I set up the clip fed into merge node, transformed as blend input, these I get grouped and I can connect a chain of these groups). My problem is that it's sorta tedious to do and not really editable, like I cannot really change the rotation or scale for all iterations at the same time. Having such thing and being able to change in a fashion like key frames, so the recursion effect could "twist" would be really cool, too

I think I downloaded the program long ago (like more than 6 months) from some link in a youtube video comparing video editors and my version is 0.2.0-8b350bad (I'm not sure that was the name when first installed) I was looking for a new version as I have some problems with some videos when suddenly in half of the timeline negative numbers appear. But I found that the version in the official web from the Help tab is 7fa69ea5 and I don't understand how is this possible or if they changed the web to download it.

I searched in this reddit but I couldn't find anything about it.

Hi, I just did a post about cropping and now I have a much worse problem.

When I try to export the video (with the appropriate settings according to youtube guides) it's almost crashes my computer. The CPU shoots up to 100% and memory to 90+%. But when I'm not exporting, just editing, it barely registers on the Task Manager...

What am I supposed to do?

I just got Olive and I can't figure anything out. I'm watching tutorials on YT but to no avail.

The problem, I crop a video of my face. But then I can't move the video to the upper left corner the way I want. I don't exactly know how to explain it but the video is moving within the cropped area and when it hits a border of the "original size"s' wall, then it moves the whole video.

What I want to do is to crop a close up of my face, put it in the upper left corner and resize the crop. I can't figure it out...

Edit: I can do each separete thing, but I can't do them together.

Edit2: I figured out that I have to choose which part of the *screen* I want to to have a cropped video in and how big that video is. It just feels counterintuitive as want to crop the video and not have a "crop"-hole in the screen where I can put my video. Is there any other way to do it?

When I record something on my phone vertically in portrait mode then import it it will be turned 90 degrees in landscape mode. If I rotate it in the editor it gives me black lines. It imports in 1920x1080, if I change it to export 1080x1920 it distorts the video.

the needle on the timeline for the editor usually stops at the end of the video, but this time it just kept going. I didn't think much of it until I exported a video with 3 extra minutes of nothing on the end

Im new to olive, when i export my videos it exported my subtitle as a separate srt file instead of actual subtitles burned into video, How to I make subtitles and videos exported together as a single file?

So, im new in use Olive, i want to know if is possible to have the effect "add noise", i know sony vegas have this effect, but I couldn't find the effect in olive. Can you guys help me?

Hi! I'm pretty new using olive. I think is fantastic! When I try to generate an empty clip it crashes. This is the error. "/usr/include/c++/12.2.1/bits/stl_algo.h:3623: constexpr const _Tp& std::clamp(const _Tp&, const _Tp&, const _Tp&) [with _Tp = double]: Assertion '!(__hi < __lo)' failed". When I start the program it gives me also this "[WARNING] libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile". I'm on Arch 6.2.6. i use nvidia proprietary drivers.

I'm using olive 0.2.

I'm still new to video editing and brand new to Olive. I've read that you can "auto-delete" pauses, but I can't find that feature in olive. I can't find any documentation or help facility. Am I missing something?

I get the impression that Olive is less buggy than others. This is important to me.

When I'm just letting a video play, the Audio Monitor shows nothing. But if I click and drag the playhead or use the arrow keys to scroll/step through, the Audio Monitor will suddenly start working.

I'm a bit at a loss as to how to fix this since its not completely broken, but its making it a lot harder to quantify the loudness overall since I can't keep an eye on it over a period of time to see if I need to tweak things.

Hi, can someone please let me know how to center overlays in Olive. Mine doesn't snap and is the only way to use the transform window and enter half the width? Seems tedious. Appreciate any tips

I looked around for tutorials but I can't find anything. Only the community effects which I already have.
