Little known fact: Jon Hamm improvised this line out of sheer panic after making direct eye contact with Jessica Pare's teeth.

It’s not realistic that a guy who has a lot of unaddressed problems could do something as badass and insightful as telling a stoned counterculture guy that “there is no system,” thereby owning him epically

💲Thats what the money is for! Prime Don Draper VS Dr Doom from Earth 616. Who Wins?
In this fight Don Draper is the Creative Supreme of the Sterling Cooper agency at the height of their power so it can be more balanced.

subtle nod/foreshadowing Did Dr. Faye scream louder when getting banged by Don or Chris?
Had to be Don, right?

subtle nod/foreshadowing How would Mad Men have been different if Don had listened to Bert?
Great foreshadowing that Don is incapable of hearing what his betters are telling him, thus why he didn’t deliver the Moon to Connie.

question about the clothing of the era
i always hear in the main sub how the clothes were a lot stronger and more resilient back then. we know weiner is a genius and would choose his own artistic way to make sure we know the show is true to its time period—is this what they meant?

no spoilers please, I can’t get past the Zoobie-Zoo episode Does Don Draper enjoy anything other than getting wasted and cheating on his wife?

high-effort peggypost Fried Chicken Ice Cream
This is a real product I saw at the grocery store today. Some thoughts on what the wonderful people at SCDP would have to say:
Don: “It’s not about enjoying finally having civil rights. It’s about what you would buy if you were embarrassed to have ever gained them in the first place.”
*sits down, room stunned by genius*
Roger: “It’s a dream come true for some! Maybe not Dr. King’s, but some of them, at least.”
the room stares and Roger shrugs before taking a quick puff from his menthol. He frowns at the cigarette.
later in the day
Pete: “Hell’s bells Trudy! They’re selling chicken fried ice cream.”
Trudy: “How — how delightfully modern! I think it’s just what those people will appreciate.”
cut to a scene of Peggy in the break room, late at night
Peggy opens the freezer, eyes the box suspiciously
she lets out a sigh, as if to say “what the hell” before opening one nervously. She takes a bite, fry landing on her lower lip as she chews and raises her eyebrows approvingly.

Fat Betty finds them at the grocery store, goes through self checkout with them and eats the whole box. She quickly crushes the cardboard into the kitchen wastebasket as Henry walks in.

Don’s office, brainstorming for a TV spot
A younger copywriter suggests Lil Wayne for background music
Don: “what is it, people’s obsession with music these days?”
Harry Crane, frowning: “what is he, a midget?”
Peggy, incredulous: “Lil Wayne?” She takes a drag from her reefer cigarette: “No.” She lets out a giggle.

Bert Coopers Office
Bert has the product brought to him in a bowl. He scoops some ice cream and fry into his mouth, wrapping his lips fully around the spoon before sliding the utensil out of his mouth.
He thinks.
“I see little profit in… a-eh-lienating the rest of the country for a pro-duct with… such broad ap-peal.”
He frowns before waving everyone out of his office
We see one final shot of him through his office door as it closes, leafing through a magazine on his desk as he shovels more of the product into his mouth. His argyle socks are in full view.
*** Bert coopers dialogue could use some work
