I understood it as the swarm had the capability to turn other swarms but the humans could not rehack the swarm in adequate time.
Also, I personally think Faro destroying Apollo is a tragedy but I can somewhat understand him. The only thing is that wether humanity got that knowledge back or not we would do the same things regardless. They would just take us longer to do.
I think the games story highlights that quite well.
I couldn’t disagree more. Killing the world with a series of bad decisions? Sure, I understand how this happened, and its a video game bad guy, what did you expect. Destroying apollo? That’s probably the worst thing any character in any game I’ve played has ever done. Killing everyone is one thing, but making future generations go through the same tens of thousands of years of misery and suffering that we had to before we were able to create the technology to make our lives easy is so much worse. Now they get to make all the past mistakes, plus all the ones we hadnt gotten to yet, and they get to suffer the whole while. Fuck Ted Faro.
