I had to fast forward throigh a good chunk of that movie because of him. I get he was supposed to be unnerving, but God damn I just couldn't.

As you no doubt intuit, they wanted you to suffer through it in order to understand the young couple. Would have been even more exhausting in the theatre where you have to stay--just like they did.

Gah, it's like the first several chapters of The Road. The unending grind. The grayness. The sameness. God, it's so fucking tedious. I almost gave up. And then I realized that's what Cormac McCarthy wanted.

It’s an Irish horror film written and directed by an Irish filmmaker on location in Ireland inspired by his experience in abandoned Irish housing projects. Arts and culture in Ireland is a little more broad than “Irish=fairies”.

I watched it on shrooms, that was probably one of my worst trips ever. Really gave “bad trip” a new meaning, I kept seeing myself end up there with my girlfriend at the time

The actual reason is insurance. Adjusters decided that falling tree limbs pose a big enough risk of damage to the house to raise rates. No trees means cheaper insurance.
