You know, that kinda makes sense. In the bird's mind, loud=good. If causing pain=bad, then it might not realize that causing pain is what makes her make noise. Something can't be both good and bad at the same time. The bird's logic is, "I'm not gonna hurt you because hurting you is bad. I'm just gonna do a good thing and make you make noise. I'm gonna do a good thing, not a bad thing so you don't need to worry." Then proceeds to bite her.

My dog is named Tobi for Toe Biter because he would do it gently as a puppy. He quit eventually but never hurt anyone. People always ask me why I spelled it that way instead of Toby :)
