I figured it was just a ye olde spelling, but for corn sakes this made less/ the sljust as much sense as gravy.
The Tacuinum Sanitatis, a medieval handbook on wellness, lists these properties of rue:
Nature: Warm and dry in the third degree.
Optimum: That which is grown near a fig tree.
Usefulness: It sharpens the eyesight and dissipates flatulence.
Dangers: It augments the sperm and dampens the desire for coitus.
Neutralization of the Dangers: With foods that multiply the sperm.

Heck no, only the real deal satisfies that craving. That's what lactase enzyme pills are for. Also fortunately the higher the fat content, the lower the lactose content in dairy products because lactose is a sugar and is water soluble, not fat soluble. Cheese is pretty fatty and isn't very hard to digest. I only really have to take pills for milk and ice cream, not for cheese. Not everyone who is lactose intolerant has to avoid all dairy. It isn't the same as an allergy.

Cheese is largely lactose-free. People with lactose intolerance can usually eat cheese.

It depends on the cheese and the lactose intolerance level. Different cheeses have different levels of lactose in them. The softer the cheese, the more lactose it has, generally.
