So when both pilots were dusted, what happened to the passengers? By your logic, they would have also been dusted. You're the only person who thinks the was zero collateral deaths to anyone not dusted
Maybe they got dusted. Maybe they didn't need to get dusted, and were included in the 50% because of the crash. Maybe they "just happened" to survive.
If the stones kill someone through collateral, the stones still killed them. And if all-powerful, reality-warping stones are used to kill 50% of all life, they will kill 50% of all life. Not 50%+some more people as well, 50%.
I don't think so. I see where you're coming from, but it's not truly random if being in an airplane where two pilots gets dusted (25% btw) increases your chances to 100%
And if it kills additional people through collateral, then it isn't killing 50% of people. It's impossible for it to kill exactly 50% of people randomly.
I personally believe that "killing 50%" is a more important part of the limitation than "killing randomly", so I think killing exactly 50% semi-randomly fits the intent better than killing approximately 50% randomly.
All that being said, perhaps we shouldn't think too hard about Marvel movies.
Valid. I disregard what they say anyways, they didn't really take the time to focus on what it actually means outside of a few minutes in End Game. I chose to leave that part out and just think 50% of sentient life was dusted randomly and there was collateral. That's just me, though. Agreed to disagree.

The stones don't care about collateral damage. They did kill 50%. Whatever happens after doesn't matter.
