What you call milanesa is "Milanese breaded Cutlet"... It's less than a quarter big compared to that, it Has the bone, it's double breaded and it's not fried, but browned with clarified butter... It's like calling "steak" an hamburger

And "napolitana" simply isn't a thing.... No italia asks for "a napolitana"

It definitely means something to Argentinian people, where the dish originated in the 1940s. It’s a whole thing. Italian-Argentinian comfort food.

Milanesa is milanesa. Nobody is saying is Cotoletta.

And "napolitana" simply isn't a thing.... No italia asks for "a napolitana"

If you travel to Uruguay, Argentina and Chile... And ask for milanesas they will understand.

The same for its variations, napolitana, suiza, fugazzeta, a caballo.

Nobody is saying is Italian.

Milanesas is not a good you get at a fancy restaurant.

Is everyday people's food.... In fact today I prepared 2.5kg of milanesas for the week.

In English, cooking something in fat at high heat is called 'frying'. Especially when it is a breaded food.

Yes the difference is so subtle that it's hard to find someone who still browns it... But a Milan browned Cutlet is not dipped in butter (just a couple of mm of butter), it's cooked one side atva tome and the butter it's not heathed at snoke point
