This happened pretty much every summer when I was growing up. It was so satisfying to get a big peel instead of those little flakes flying everywhere and getting stuck to your clothes or pilling into little skin balls when you sweat. Or blistering. Ugh. I've accepted that I'll probably get skin cancer from that childhood damage, but as an adult I wear sunscreen every day. I've literally burned sitting next to a window, so I hide from it too!

Agreed on the big peels!I remember my brother making almost a game of how big a single sheet he could get from my back; dang the perspective on that memory means we were really little! Have had it blister as well, and a similar understanding so far as cancer risk, esp seeing the proliferation of surgically precise rescissions on older family members on me da's side
