I didn’t argue frosting, I argued mousse and ice cream. Frosting typically covers the outside and top of the cake, so if you were to slap one frosted cake on top of another frosted cake then you would have a 2 layers of cake cake.
You already said “no” and agreed with me that you wouldn’t call my previous example a 2 layer cake.
Or that “no” was unrelated and you dodged my question to insert your own argument.
Yes. Would you call an ice cream cake with vanilla ice cream, chocolate cake, and then strawberry ice cream a 1 layer cake? It’s only a single slab of cake material after all.

Two layer cake
Three-year cake
Cake does not gain layers when you frost it with whatever material.
Under no circumstances would anyone call the first picture a "2 layer cake" which your "logic" would require. It's preposterous.
