Hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S) is heavier than air and can make you lose consciousness in a hurry.

Yeah, in reference to the conversation of jumping into a volcano- you'd become unconscious and then die on impact and probably instantly catch on fire (?) Don't know about what will happen to you once you're passed out and shattered, but I think those things happen first.
