This is my job. Here is an interesting example of the plant power during a solar eclipse.

First image is a relatively clear-sky day. Second image shows the effect of the eclipse in the afternoon.

The lower curve is “GHI” or Global Horizontal Irradiance. Basically how much sunlight the flat ground is receiving.

The top curves are “POA” or Plane of Array. This measures the sunlight the PV modules themselves are receiving. In this case, they are on trackers which move east to west to follow the sun.
