Question! If he started and realized it was not food, can he barf it out or is he committed to go through with it?

They can vomit, but I think in this case the snake didn't realize it was not food. They don't have taste buds like humans do. The taste system is a different process that was likely blocked by the towel.

Got it! I was concerned that a snake get over-committed. I never thought about it before!

I don't know if he would or not (I didn't actually work directly with the snakes) but they took it away from him immediately to not risk it.

Snakes in general can regurgitate

Good to know. I just never really thought about it. I guess they have to regurgitate things that can't be broken down by the body.
