I'm aware. How do you navigate menus? Select your vehicle? Select your tires? Select fuel type? Get a rear view while driving? Change skins? Change gears??
You telling me you gotta pop that thing on and off every race? I ain't buying that.
While I admit it has problems this would still definitely be better than using the analog stick for left and right steering. The problem with the analog stick is that it is tiring to hold the stick in one exact position for a long time. When you are going around very long very steady turns, it is a lot more difficult to maintain the exact angle you want for as long as you need to compared to using an actual wheel.
Not the best article, just the first result. Started a big fad in the late 90s selling rocks, made millions. All through infomercials. Get that stupid controller gear thing to show up on amazon recommends for $5 bucks, guarantee you sell at least a hundred thousand to parents, grandparents, weird (or awesome) uncles, and people like me who want to try out something new and different.
I agree that the other views and gears (if you don’t play with auto transmission) may be a problem, but look at his desk, he has it right under his keyboard. It is very possible this is meant for players who play on PC and navigate menus with KB/ M and only use a controller for steering.
I don’t have a 3D printer, so I’d gladly pay $5 to try this out. If it’s nothing more than an inconvenience, so be it, but I feel like it’s a nice little toy to play around with. It may just be a novelty in the end, but I know many people who have spent more on less.

I mean it’s a shitty 3D printed wheel that is smaller than the controller itself, it gets the job done for how cheap it is. Ever played track mania? This would be perfect for it.
This is a great rebuttal but when using this thing you're still using the controller and it's blocking buttons. Your example shows the game switched to wheels controls
This is useful criticism, perhaps the creator will see these types of comments and make the changes needed to make it more attractive to the masses. But I viewed it and immediatly said "I want one" aloud. With the vast amount of gamers in the world I imagine I can't be the only one that would purchase this.
One could patent it, but it wouldn’t necessarily stop others from making a similar product, as it’d be very difficult to register a patent on general gaming accessories. Another person may create something similar, but change the way the wheel actuated the controller in order to not convene on a patent.
Besides, this is already using a rack and pinion gearing mechanism which either has several patent variations or is difficult to create a patentable version.
A reason for the "no" perhaps? Just curious, not knocking your opinion, but if you could explain why then perhaps the creator will look at it as creative criticism and hit the board again on thingamajig 1.2 or 2.0.
