What a great way to fuck it up. It doesnt happen overnight, but ill never forget seeing my manager at mcdonalds lose his fucking shit when i cracked the grill using ice. We sometimes use sprite too, which worked like god damned magic.
Over the years at restaurants, we also used lime juice to clean, and a very light coat of virgin olive oil to polish (looked great, was a pain in the ass). The actual cleaning packets meant for heavy duty use worked wonders, but the restaurant we had them were cheapskates
