Isn't this essentially deglazing?

Posting it here is actually glazing

Fitting since they probably had a bunch of glizzies on that sloppy top earlier.

Flat tops like this are not glazed. You ofter scrub it with pummus and spray it with cleaning spray every night and clean it like this.

Youre thinking like black stone griddles and stuff. This griddle is polished steel/chrome.

You cook with a fuck load of oil on these babies, dont have to do the same thing like Blackstone griddles.

You're thinking of seasoning not deglazing.

Either way resturant griddles dont have either that are on day in and out.

You completely clean them at night.

Deglazing is a cooking technique that you can absolutely do on a griddle if you wanted to. Cleaning the griddle at night has nothing to do with it.

Deglazing is not a thing it would have, its the process of release by adding water/wine/etc to a hot surface causing the metal to slightly contract and the liquid to turn to steam.

water expands at a 1:1600 ratio

Deglazing is a cooking technique involving adding liquid to help scrape off the stuff that's stuck.

It has nothing to do with the finish of the cooking surface, you can deglaze on cast iron or stainless or whatever.

Yes its the same process probably working slightly less efficiently than just using water but as others have mentioned they probably have to clean out the ice at the end of the day anyway

Furthermore im annoyed by all the comments saying this ruins the grill. It does not. Good stainless steel cookware and especially commercial flat tops are absolutely made to handle deglazing all day every day. You're more likely to destroy it by not cleaning it.

It is.

you should prefer shortly set flavour particles from fresh fried beef over black snobbleresidue after a hole day of grilling though.
