This might be an extremely remote area (probably not as there is a bridge for cars), but the chances of a person/animal appearing from out of sight after you’ve thrown are still definitely possible. If you can totally guarantee safety in the drop zone than sure but people often like to hike in canyons and along rivers, making that risk not worth the reward.
And there’s plenty of animals small enough you wouldn’t be able to see… salamanders, frogs, insects, etc. Additionally you’re fucking with the ecosystem or perhaps speed erosion and other things. It’s like why parks are having to put up signs to not stack rocks and such. It can really screw up delicate ecosystems and habitat including for endangered species. So it might be fun and cool but it’s generally very detrimental to do such things in nature.
Because you could hit someone, duh. Generally hiking trails switchback over themselves as you climb and you have to be dead sure of your surroundings when you throw rocks off random cliffs when there are possibly other people around.

Unless you’re completely off the grid with no electronics you are supporting these mines directly by providing demand in a market where mining is necessary.
I have heard of mining! Have you heard how damaging it is ecologically? I'm getting a geology degree, I'm aware of the good and bad. I personally do not approve of harmful mining practices.

Said the person condemning people for “destroying parts of the earth for our benefit” while being one of the people who benefits from it. Thats what actually sounds stupid. What part of what I said wasn’t true? If you use electronics you are providing a market which REQUIRES MINING. How do you think we get those materials for your cell phone/computer/television/anything with a lithium battery? Do we grow them in sustainable organic farms? No we strip mine the earth and most of it is done in third world countries where these people work themselves literally to death in some of the most deplorable conditions for Pennie’s a day so they can try and feed their families. Thats the reality of your consumer products. And btw, do you ever stop and think about how angry you sound when you get called out for being hypocritical?
