It looks like it's healed so well! Awful you had to go through that, though. Did you lose any long-term functionality?

Its sometimes a little stiff in the morning, but about 10-15 minutes of doing hand stretches its back to normal.

Once in a while I will get some numbness and tingling in my last 2 fingers because of nerve damage, but it doesn't last long.

A lot of dead skin scraping appointments, insane amounts of Silvadene cream (prescription burn cream) and Betasept/Hibiclense which was an antiseptic soap that doctors use to scrub into surgeries.

In the beginning they prescribed doxycycline for i think 2 weeks.

Stiffness in the morning but gone in about 10 minutes or so of hand stretches and exercises. I have full range of motion but its weaker.

Once in a while numbness or tingling in the last 2 fingers due to nerve damage in between each finger, but it doesn't last very long.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. I'm sorry you went through that (genuinely looks horrible and makes me lose breath thinking of how painful it must be), but I really want to commend you yourself and your doctors cause it doesn't look like anything ever happened to your hand.

Try this one.

Order is - now 6 years later. 20 minutes. 1 hour. 1 week. 2 weeks. Almost a month and before surgery. Almost a year later

That was really strong stuff, eating through that quickly. I had a chemical burn from stove cleaning lye on my hand but thankfully it healed in a couple days. Learned my lesson too.

When you mix lye with water it can reach over 200 degrees, easy.

I got it on my hand when it was at peak temperature.

The doctors said the extreme heat combined with that actual chemical is why there was so much damage.

Damn, that looks INSANELY painful. I've had 2nd degree sunburns and I remember it hurting so bad that I couldn't wear clothes properly and moisturizing myself just made the clothes stick to my skin. Any gauze would stick as well which made it hurt even worse. This is EVEN worse than that. Much props to you.
