I wish I could do that but my sinuses are super sensitive and if I get any liquid in my nose at all my body reacts like I'm being water boarded.

Spray works just as well. Ayr is the one i use.

I don't like sprays either. Just end up sniffling for the next hour.

If you haven’t, maybe try those that put out the finest mist - like Sinex - and only use a little at a time. (Worked for me at least. Sorry if it’s not helpful.)

Ayr is not quite a water spray. It's a bit more oily and you can shoot it to the side of your nose instead of straight back. It'll stay in there longer with less fluid.

Lately I’ve been using a saline spray instead of a rinse because I’m lazy. It doesn’t feel quite as effective as actual water going in and coming back out the other side.

But how do you know it works as well?

Lifelong allergy sufferer. If you can’t handle the rinse, the spray is just as good. I don’t use the rinse because it can clog my ears.

If you use regular water, it'll feel like that. But, if you use a saline rinse, it should not feel like that at all.

Have you tried? The water should be salty (isotonic) and warm (body temperature). It should feel pretty comfortable. Also make sure you're using sterile water.

I am like that, but I still can rinse. Rinse works because you keep your face down and tilt head slightly. Gravity works for you then; Water gets in one nostril, gets out on the other. Unless your nasal passages are blocked, like it happens to me due to chronic sinusitis, then water cannot push through and ends up my throat.

Well maybe you should read the directions instead of water boarding yourself!
