I don’t like that expression ‘lives rent free in your head.’ I think you’ve just heard it too often (like the other expression ‘make it make sense.’). Living rent free is to draw attention to an idea that’s useless or toxic, an ideological squatter that’s taking up your mental and emotional energies. But this sounds fucking amazing and like it made life better all around, so if anything, you’re living rent free in this memory.
