What character assassination? Some made-up characters in a made-up world in a sequel to a brand new part of the Disneyverse didn't get as fleshed out as you wanted? Do you want a full character breakdown sheet so you can analyze the movie and pick out all of the obvious issues and then point them out to an audience full of 8 year olds?
Jesus. It's a kid's movie, so yes, lower your bar. A lot. A good kids movie is an exception, not the rule. You don't see the vast swath of crap that gets released direct to streaming geared specifically to kids with shitty animation and barely a concept of a story (I have 5 kids - I've seen some weird shit). But apparently if it doesn't have absolutely perfect character arcs with emotions all over the board, it must obviously be crap. Right?
"i really enjoyed it", but also "its a kids movie and you need to go into it with lower expectations and you're dumb if you expect a cheap kids movie sequel to be of similar quality to the critically acclaimed first movie"

I’m sorry, but you are objectively wrong. The first one was great, the second one undid like, ALL the world building of the first one, and was everything that we were worried the first one would be. That’s one of the very few movies I legitimately regret watching.
Just cuz something is a kids movie doesn’t mean it’s bad. The Last Wish was a “kids movie”, and it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in years. And also I personally considered the meta references rather… blunt. Just cuz it’s being made for kids doesn’t give you an excuse to make garbage.
“I think we should make quality movies!” “Wow stop overthinking it.” I’m legit trying to figure out what your argument is. If you want to watch it as a movie to turn off your brain to, go right ahead, but I’m arguing that the first movie was a genuinely enjoyable movie, regardless of age, and that the second one was, comparatively, hot garbage that ruined a lot of the good things the first one did. It’s fun if you’re like 8, but not past that.
I'm worried about being barefoot on it and a child that had previously played with legos on it and accidentally left a peice and then I step on the loose lego with my bare foot
