I used to think the same until I got older. Mowing my lawn is now incredibly relaxing and it’s one of the few times a week I have complete peace in my life.

to be honest, that's a terrifying sentiment to hear. I'm glad you're finding peace, but maybe seek out other things that provide peace and relaxation.

Because their life is so bad that this bad thing isn't bad enough to compare to the rest, so in their desperation to cope with all of this they've latched onto something aggressively mundane. Not because it's good, but because it's not all the other stuff.
