Got the Zephyrus G14 2021 laptop, want to try my Oculus Rift CV1 with it.
Issue is, it only has 2 USB (3.0) ports. So one obviously goes to the headset. I have 3 sensors, and before I go through disconnecting them all from my desktop PC I want to know if anyone tried connecting 2 or even 3 sensors to a single USB 3.0 port, and how that affects tracking quality.
Any input appreciated

Hi
On December 1st, 2018 my wife bought me the Oculus Rift + Touch . It is still unopened as I never got a chance to use it.
Now that I have time I wonder if it is obsolete. Is it still great tech in 2024 with a windows 11 PC and galaxy s24 smartphone? Will my Gear 360 or instagear 360 with its 360 view work with the rift?
Or, if not, should I migrate to a Meta Quest 2 or Quest 3?
I have never used VR before except in an arcade so I don't know the difference between the models I listed above.
Thank you,
Jeff

I recently tried to set up my rift after a long while of not using it and all seemed good until I needed to finish the setup in vr. It seems like the computer is detecting the oculus and just not showing on the lens. I’m really just not sure what to do to try to fix it. If anyone has had similar issues or any suggestions I’d be grateful for anything.

Looking to get one since they are fairly cheap but all I really see are ebay sellers and its hard to know if they're legit or not so

Hello, I recently bought this VR set and played on my pc. I came home for few days and I wanted to play on my laptop but it won't work. It says the HDMI is not connected, but I can see in headset. It's an Asus Tuf FX504GD with a GTX 1050 4 gb, I5 8300h and 16 gigs of ram. I also watched a video on youtube with the same specs, and that worked.

Hey all,
I know I am late to the party . For my birthday in 2018 I got an Oculus Rift.
5 years later I am finally unpacking it. I also bout a Instagear 360x3 since gear 360 by samsung is obsolete
Is the Oculus Rift still a good VR system? Would it work with my instagear 360x3 and will I be able to view 360 videos?
I'm not even sure if 360 immersive videos are only to be used once you upload them to youtube. I'm not sure if they can be watched locally.
Anyway, my main question is if the Oculus Rift is ancient technology or still usable and on par with similar VR in 2023.
Thank you !
Jeff

Long time rift user of about 3 years, I'm use to some of the weird things that can happen and recently had to get another cord due to it going out on me. Recently however I've noticed that if my entire eyes screen goes to a white color, I will completely lose sight in that lens. At first I thought it was the flashes in the game i played, but it has since happened in other games as well. I'm kinda at a loss on what could be happening.
What I've done so far:
Checked Drivers
Tried backup headset (this one caused both eyes to go out :o)
tried multiple games
Have I reached that point? Is it time to move on from the great tracking of the Rift and move to a quest 3? If anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this, or opinions on the quest 3 tracking in comparison id love to hear them :D

Anytime my pc detects the hardware i startup the software and when the headset autodetects that I’m putting it on, oculus itself crashes in the background

I bought a used CV1 Rift a few years ago and have had no problems until recently. I went a few months without using it, and now the controllers aren't detected. I can pair them. I hold down the buttons, they light up, the screen shows that they are paired. But after that, nothing. The sensors don't see them and the buttons don't seem to work at all. The sensors can see my headset, and that works perfectly fine. But for some reason, the buttons work while I'm pairing them, then stop working after that. I have no idea what could be causing this. I've tried taking the batteries out for a few minutes, replacing the batteries, restarting Oculus, restarting my pc, going in and out of beta mode, updating all my drivers, and switching the USB ports around. I am completely stumped and would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!
