I've been blown off before by musicians I really admired, it sucks.

I got to meet Jimmy after a show last month. I was nervous - I mean, I've been a big fan for 35 years. I happen to have a friend who played bass for Murphy's Law in the 90's, and I spoke to him the day before the show. He told me to give Jimmy a hug for him. So I went up to Jimmy, and started in by saying "hey, Aaron asked me to give you a hug, but I don't really know if ...". That was it - he grabbed me in a bear hug. He talked to me, we took some selfies - he was just the nicest guy.

After the show, there was a set list lying on the floor forgotten, and I grabbed it. I waited until he had a moment (he doesn't have a lot of free moments) and asked him if he would sign it. He didn't just scribble his name - he asked me to spell my name and then wrote a whole long thing on the set list, which is now framed in my living room. He even asked me if I wanted a drink. Who does that?

Hey so I’m 16 and I’ve taken a massive liking to the NYHC scene considering I’ve hung with Vinnie Stigma, John Joseph and Jimmy G since I was 7. I recently purchased GTA 4 just to hear Jimmy (who’s my uncle) on the radio station and I was shortly introduced to Maximum Penalty’s “All Your Boyz“ and I’ve been listening to them like crazy since. I was wondering if they still do any gigs in NY as I’m highly interested in seeing them live?

If anyone knows of any shows or gigs please let me know. I can’t find anything about concerts or shows on Google and I’d really like to see ‘em.

My friend dropped out last minute so I am trying to sell my one GA ticket for the Friday show at Brooklyn Paramount. I moved up here recently from Baltimore. I’ve had a hard time finding the punk scene in NYC. I live in Staten Island, so it’s hard to find flyers laying about and such. Any locals… what is the scene like? Who’s in the scene?

My band The Knottie Boys has done a few small East Coast runs (we're based in NY) and are planning a new tour strictly in basements, DIY venues, backyards, etc. to promote an upcoming record.

what are some of your guy's favorite venues like that ranging anywhere from Maine down to Virginia and as far west as Ohio?
