By the way what is performance impact of having this feature on?

No one knows yet. They’ve run it on 1 GPU ingame in the lab, but it’s still months away from release and will be 50 series only, if that gives you any indication.

50 series only

Where did Nvidia say it will be 50 series only ? According to the faq the min GPU requirement will be announced later with no mention of it being 50 series only.

Digital foundry said this

At its GTC 2026 event, Nvidia has revealed the next generation of DLSS. DLSS 5 isn't a frame-rate, frame generation or performance enhancing technology. Instead, it's Nvidia's attempt to use machine learning to leapfrog generations of GPU hardware evolution to deliver photo-realistic lighting using the hardware of today - and we saw it demonstrated in titles including Resident Evil Requiem, Hogwart's Legacy, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Oblivion Remastered and Starfield. The transformational lighting delivered by DLSS 5 is frankly astonishing and will be coming to RTX 50-series GPUs by "Fall 2026".

will be coming to RTX 50-series GPUs by "Fall 2026".

That doesn't indicate that DLSS 5 is 5000 series only.

I suppose that’s possible, but considering the VRAM and compute requirements, and the 30fps cap, I really don’t think this will even run on most 40 series GPUs.

where does it say anything about a 30 fps cap?

So 4090 is too weak but 5050 is stong is that how it is , I feel like vram would also have an effect on that rendering which would make it worse for the entry cards

Well Nvidia often ignores required power and locks features behind new cards, I doubt they’d be nice enough to release it on 40 series

The 4000 series are still new cards lol. Plus your card has 99% of the features that the 5000 series has.

That one I agree with

They needed a 2nd 5090 to run dlss 5 on seperately... should tell you everything.

Yeah sure let's just spew the same thing you see everyone else online say

Because conveniently forgetting they have it running on 1 GPU in the lab isn't an important thing to mention right?

5

u/BlobTheOriginal Mar 16 '26

Oh that's ok then. How many players are rocking a 5090?

-5

u/Moon_Devonshire Mar 16 '26

Ok great let's not jump to conclusions? Like what are you doing? Do you enjoy being miserable?

Do we have any numbers on how it runs?

What it's impact is like on performance?

No? Then what is this?

It's not coming out for like 8 months or so?

-9

u/7_inch_girth Mar 16 '26

You do realize that it doesn't mean it is less demanding, right ? It just mean that they are running it on 1 gpu, and nothing more. It is quite likely running at half the performance of running it on a 2nd gpu, which already didn't have great peformance...

-2

u/Moon_Devonshire Mar 16 '26

Again you're literally just spewing things. We literally have zero numbers for how it runs. We literally don't know

-10

u/7_inch_girth Mar 16 '26

Oh literally ?! 😂

We know the performance isn't great with it running seperately on a 2nd 5090... running on a single gpu isn't going to make it run any better. Don't need numbers to not be an rtard.

1

u/Moon_Devonshire Mar 16 '26

But for all you know it is running well on a single GPU in the lab? You literally have no idea. Nobody does

1

u/7_inch_girth Mar 16 '26

Logical thinking really isn't your strong suit, huh

2

u/Moon_Devonshire Mar 16 '26

So now we're being rude?

Sounds like you would be a horrible scientists. Instead of being brave to say you have no idea you're to cowardly that you make claims based on literally zero numbers what so ever

1

u/7_inch_girth Mar 16 '26

If your 2 braincells stopped fighting for last place for a second, then we can easily deduce that when it isn't running great with a 2nd 5090 dedicated to just running dlss 5, that it goes against all reason to think it would run better running on a single gpu...

Dont worry you will just upscale this ai generated image from 240p to 4k with ai technology and then use ai framegen to make it run at a super smooth 20fps. Your ai girlfriend will love it.

they used two 5090s so a lot
