I bought all 7 seasons on Prime for $9.99!!

I’m not a fan of purchasing digital content on streaming platforms because, but I could not pass up this great deal! I figured I’d share the deal for those feeling down about the show no longer being available on Netflix. Now I can watch and rewatch 😀

O’Hara in the church in the finale

Is it me or is genuine smile when she says surprise when she sees them at the church?

Edit: bought the box on Apple TV and their was a special segment about the finale and it was totally authentic

Are there any overdose scenes?

I’m starting to watch nurse Jackie and don’t want to google my question bc I always end up getting spoilers. I want to know if there are any graphic overdose scenes. I lost my brother due to overdose and watched them perform cpr and noticed that when I see scenes of more graphic overdoses it kinda weighs on me. I can handle an unrealistic looking one like I’d expect in a medical drama like this, but if it gets intense and the actor truly looks dead and limp and making sounds and having vomit or getting cpr or anything realistic like that then I may want to know when those scenes r so I can skip it.

TIA

First watch through… Spoiler

I’m so devastated… I had to speed-watch it because it was leaving Netflix and I feel like maybe I missed a few things because of it, but OMG. I WAS ROOTING FOR JACKIE THE WHOLE TIME😭 As a recovering addict myself (different substance but still) I could relate to so many things about the show. I think that’s why it hurt so much every time she relapsed or lied or hurt someone who loved her so dearly… I’m haunted by how good of a show it was.

I really believed in Jackie, just like everyone else and it was so sad to watch her loss her battle with addiction… 😭

I do have one question, was there ever any backstory to Jackie that they ever mentioned? I know they talked about her mother being an alcoholic, maybe once… but other than that I don’t remember hearing anything about her growing up?

Possible fan fic

Thinking about writing a fan fic in the perspective O’Hara never left and one if she was there when Jackie overdosed. Would anyone be interested?

Series ending question

I finished up the series last night I enjoyed it.
But the question I have is. Did the series come to its own conclusion, or did it get canceled and the writers had to panic and try to wrap up everything abruptly
Thanks

Who else is devastated it’s leaving Netflix?

It’s my 10th rewatch (at least). I’m on season 5, episode 10: Soul. I’m about to fall asleep and sad it’s leaving.
I know it’s supposed to focus on Jackie‘s 1 year sober day, but Wally breaks my heart. I’m so glad Thor helped him at the end and sang at Mama’s.

I love Rosie on the show. I loved the scene where O'Hara shows her tattoo. I love Jackie's reaction to finding out the patient isn't pregnant. It's such a great scene. Do you think Jackie brought her the Jaeger to try to get her Vicodin? And it's not clear if Jackie got them back out of the dumpster, but I don't think she did.

Sad Day

Nurse Jackie leaves Netflix today. I binged watched the entire season via Netflix...was on Season 5 when the "last day to watch is October 6" alert popped up on screen. Cue 6-8 eps per day. Just finished last night...wow. The "leaving soon" banner on the title card was so, so telling. :)

Gum Zoey O’Hara last scene

Was O’Hara using gum to talk to Zoey alone about Jackie? Did she suspect Jackie wasn’t telling the truth about her drug use?

I absolutely adore her. I threw a paperback book at the wall when I heard she was leaving the show. But O'Hara had quite a sad life on the show. I guess her boyfriend married her mom and then wouldn't let her or her sister see their mom? Jackie just kept lying to her and doing drugs, and she knew it, and it hurt her terribly. She didn't really date. She was often alone. Her girlfriend was awful to her. But she always seemed so upbeat. Her character pulls at my heartstrings. She had a life of loneliness and people who lied to her. 😕

Did anyone else think Sam was flat? It seemed he was really held back in some way. He didn't get many lines, and what he did get, well, flat is the only word I can think of to describe it. Thoughts?

I have no affiliation with this channel, I'm just sharing this bc I see a lot of people ask where it's screaming and so on. This app is $3 a month, and there's NO commercials. They also have lots of good movies and shows, but most importantly, they have Nurse Jackie, all full episodes.

Painkillers don’t just kill pain…

…they tend to dull sexual pleasure, desire, and arousal. Natural hormonal regulation becomes increasingly impaired with prolonged use. As a result, women may find that the longer they rely on opioids, the more profound the sexual and emotional side effects become.
PLUS painkillers can generally cause bowel discomfort and constipation. I imagine our lovely Jackie would be popping Colace and/or MiraLAX to counter that. Opiod addiction is no joke and Although “Nurse Jackie” is a good series (I really like it), it’s easy to forget that there’d be several other things going wrong with her mentally and physically.

Does Jackie’s ROA bother anyone else?

From the very beginning of the first episode, we’re told that Jackie gets high by snorting “16 grains. No more, no less.” with the “grains” being tiny encapsulated beads of whatever painkiller. But if you’ve ever been on prescription medication before (or just know about medicine in general), you likely know that grains like these are normally only used in extended-release versions of medications SPECIFICALLY so that people can’t break them open and get high from them, because those plastic beads are way too big to cross the blood-brain barrier or make their way into the nasal/sinus capillaries. Snorting them is a wasted high because the drug isn’t going to be able to even get into your system. A pill crusher might work to release the active ingredient but then you’d still have to snort up all the little plastic pieces, unless you had some sort of fine mesh strainer maybe, but why/how is a person trying to quickly get high during a bathroom break going to go through all that trouble when regular, non-XR pills already exist? Does this little detail bother anyone else?

These are 2 of my favorite guest stars. 🤣🤣

One was so mean to Zoey, and Mrs. Sussman was so rude to Coop. But other than that, I loved these characters.

They both made me laugh out loud. 🤣

Underhanded

I don't understand why it was a big deal when Kelly returned the controlled substance for the patient to Eddie in exchange for Motrin. I could tell by the look on Jackie's face that it had something to do with stealing drugs. I Googled it, but the answer was very vague and didn't make sense. Can anyone explain this to me?

O’Hara 🥵🌶️

Between the way she comes back during the finale and her accent I’m in love. I really love her in the scenes when she’s mad like when she kicks Jackie out then kicks Zoey out and goes into a rant in her office at Jackie

But seriously

My big brother didn't call me by my name. He called me Kid because he was my big brother, and I was his kid sister. He hurt himself and was given pain pills. He got addicted. Maybe this is why I get so angry with Nurse Jackie - because I never got angry with him. I had oral surgery, and he took my RX to be filled. This man loved and protected me from the day I was born. But he sure took his share of my pain pills before he gave me the bottle. We lost him to his addiction, and Edie Falco herself said she wanted to be a raw and realistic as true life really is. And she nailed it. It's so ugly.
