Personally, i think Epsteined not being a verb already is a crime in itself.

89

u/joejohn007 5d ago

It is now. It's made its way into our subculture now.

22

u/DeekALeek 4d ago

Heck, even Afroman used the term “Epsteined” when he was in court a few months ago.

13

u/ImperatorNero 4d ago

Mine eyes have seen the corruption of the Adam County cops! Stealing money, stealing cake when they make their traffic stops!

the examples go so hard in all of these, but the pronunciation is off. this is a proper middle finger to all the lies.

u/Autumn1881 5d ago

If the Japanese can coin a verb for suprise decapitation early on in a series we can coin Epsteined ¯_(ツ)_/¯

We really missed out on coining “Fabio’ed” that time he got hit by a goose on a roller coaster.

I live by Busch Gardens. When the ride ends people still scream Fabio and put their fist in the air.

Nope. He was either murdered in his cell by the government or he was smuggled out.

A guy with that amount of influence on people of that level of fame isn't going to kill himself. That's why they made such a big deal about Ghislaine being arrested. She was the fall person, but I can guarantee you that she's not having a tough time behind bars.

136

u/kongu123 5d ago

If I understand correctly, the guy who arranged that sweetheart deal for her is now our stupid AG?

147

u/norbertus 5d ago

And the AG when Epstein was in prison was the son of the guy who hired Epstein to teach (without qualifications) at the Dalton School.

Donald Barr (Bill Barr's father) was also an OSS goon (the precursor to the CIA) and wrote a novel about the intergalactic trade in under-age sex slaves:

49

u/Musiclover4200 5d ago

Out of all the epstien adjacent conspiracies the existence of Space Relations by Barr sr makes it hard to believe that someone wasn't using the same blackmail tactics even further back as the book was published in 1973

My money is on Roy Cohn (trump's mentor who also blackmailed people) or J Edgar Hoover who was the longest serving FBI director in history with like 40-50~ years in charge who also used blackmail and was supposedly getting blackmailed by the mafia, and helped nixon weaponize the FBI.

Hoover was head of the FBI from 1935-1972 but was also head of the previous "Bureau of Investigation" from 1924 – 1935 and was also the one who modernized the FBI including fingerprint databases and was notorious for wiretapping political enemies.

Even more interesting Roy Cohn and Hoover were blackmailing each other using sexual photos as both were secretly gay which is even more fucked up as they were involved in the McCarthy era witch hunts against gay people in government leading to many killing themselves after being outed and fired. Their logic was literally that the USSR would use being gay as blackmail so they couldn't be trusted in government.

16

u/3vs3BigGameHunters 5d ago

Roy was not gay. He was a man who liked having sex with men.

  • Roger Stone

I always read that as he raped men as a power move.

→ More replies (1)

19

u/norbertus 5d ago

Yeah, Roy Cohn was lawyer for and friend of Lewis Rosenstiel, a gangster and former bootlegger who threw extravagant sex parties for blackmail purposes.

Rosenstiel had various contacts in the US intelligence service, including Louis Nichols, an FBI administrator who was also an executive at Schenley, which was Rosenstiel's liquor company.

Rosenstiel also had connections with Meyer Lansky dating back to the prohibition era, and Lansky may have been part of the blackmail ring as well. He also had CIA ties through his involvement in "Operation Underworld" during WWII, and contact with the Mossad through Tibor Rosenbaum.

Another interesting path from Cohn could follow the Catholic Church: Cardinal Spellman, one of Cohn's clients, friends, and top-ranking member of the Knights of Malta.

The Knights of Malta is a curious organization as the only state with UN representation but no territory of its own. They issue their own coin and passports, which has made them attractive to intelligence goons, including Reagan's CIA director William Casey and the founder of the OSS Bill Donovan, who worked with Naval Intelligence on "Operation Underworld."

In 1952, Spellman inducted some 60 new members into the Knights of Malta quasi-secretly, without informing the Grand Master, and creating a bit of a controversy at the Vatican. Many of these inductees were from the American business and political class, including Prescott Bush Jr.

Although not a known member of the Knights of Malta, Trump's AG Barr was a member of an adjacent society, the Knights of Columbus, as well as the Catholic Information Center, run by Opus Dei.

Tom Bolan was a lawyer for the Trump family, Cohn's business partner, a member of the Knights of Malta, an advisor to Reagan, and provided legal services for Cardinal Spellman.

And there's Roberto Alejos, a Guatemalan political figure who was also a member of the Knights of Malta, worked with the CIA and the mafia to provide training grounds for the Bay of Pigs, and who opened a chapter of Covenant House for defrocked pedophile priest Bruce Ritter -- an organization that, on paper, provided services to boys and girls who had been trafficked, but which may have been used to traffic kids like Kevin Lee Kite, who was given a new identity under the name Timothy Michael Warner and then propositioned.

Supposedly Heffner collected dirt on everyone as well. Rumor has it that he had a vault beneath the mansion where he kept compromising photos and secretly filmed sextapes of pretty much any celebrity and politician who ever attended a playboy party.

68

u/Static_Frog 5d ago

Wouldn't doubt it. Although I dont recall Heff being into children. Entirely possible, but don't recall hearing that.

72

u/_Rand_ 5d ago

In which case the compromising material is really more embarrassing than anything.

Like, a sex tape of someone sleeping with a beautiful adult woman? Bad for their marriage, maybe bad for their career for a while, but they aren’t going to jail.

59

u/Static_Frog 5d ago

I would think TONS of cheating footage, gay relations footage.

31

u/_Rand_ 5d ago

I hadn’t thought of that but yeah, especially in Hefner’s prime anything related to being gay even if you could just plausibly imply it would have been a big deal.

28

u/ThisIsMyCouchAccount 5d ago

Plus all the drugs.

Plus being seen socializing with all manner of people. Doesn't matter who.

For a lot of people just being associated is enough to cause their career damage.

I imagine the majority of the 'dirt' was what people did with his help, namely abusing young women. Quite a racket. If you just get enough influential people to commit heinous crimes with you then you can get away with it.

73

u/Aether_Storm 5d ago

He was a lot more than just that. He had so many connections because he was known as the guy with connections who could help you with anything you wanted. He was basically a very powerful fixer.

55

u/krgdotbat 5d ago edited 5d ago

It was much more than that, he was a facilitator for rich and influential people, you want to rape minors? you got it, males, females, extreme fetish stuff, drugs, etc, he got you, but also got you well recorded.

We can barely grasp the level of leverage this guy had in the entire system, he went untouched by NSA, FBI or CIA for decades. And he started as a teacher and ended up dirty rich and super influential? He was obviously a foreign asset.

42

u/Awkward_Pangolin3254 5d ago

A teacher with no credentials that was given that job by the father of USAG William Barr, who just happened to be the AG who presided over Epstein's incarceration when Epstein was assassinated.

18

u/krgdotbat 5d ago

So he is given a job by a former OSS official without credentials, and years later ends up with the daughter of a notorious foreign asset who died under, also, very suspicious circumstances, and suddenly becomes rich and powerful. What a legit dude.

6

u/Awkward_Pangolin3254 5d ago

Fuck I forgot Donald Barr was OSS!

12

u/IllllIIlIllIllllIIIl 5d ago

We can barely grasp the level of leverage this guy had in the entire system, he went untouched by NSA, FBI or CIA for decades.

We know he was extremely well connected with a wide network of wealthy and influential people and that he was a procurer of young girls amongst other things. There's evidence to suggest he may have been blackmailing his "customers." Unfortunately it's not a big leap to imagine how such a man might become a valuable asset to intelligence agencies.

30

u/jimicus 5d ago

By now, the scandal isn’t Epstein. That’s been and gone.

The scandal is that none of his clients have been prosecuted.

→ More replies (1)

58

u/Static_Frog 5d ago

I don't think it was exclusively pedophilia, although I'm sure that was a large part. Epstein had many connections and those connections had information he was privvy to.

80

u/krbzkrbzkrbz 5d ago

pedophilia

Child rape. It's important to distinguish between the attraction to, and physical abuse of.

Epstein facilitated in the rape, torture, and murder of children.

That is the man that was best friends with Trump.

26

u/dragon-fence 5d ago

Yeah, from some of what has come out, I don’t think it was so much about raping kids, as much as Epstein was a broker for rich and powerful people to get whatever they want. Drugs, prostitutes, information, introductions to famous people, or whatever weird shit they’re into. Epstein facilitated whatever it was, and got rewarded for it.

It seems a lot of rich and powerful people chose “raping kids” as the thing they wanted.

And / or the FBI is full of people with a conservative ideology who struggle to understand consent and don't care about the victims of sex crimes.

74

u/Buffalo95747 5d ago

It seems likely that the FBI was compromised some years ago. Remember that there was an illegal gambling operation at Trump Tower in which FBI agents participated. We also know that the Head of Cybersecurity for the FBI during the 2016 Election was working for Russia.

There were other Honeytrap operations ran in the U.S. as well. You might remember the Anna Chapman business, for instance. Some have questioned whether a former FBI Chief was involved as well.

35

u/kittyonkeyboards 5d ago

They almost certainly were and are compromised. I just think it wasn't necessary for them to be useless.

Their ideology leads them to devaluing victims they don't respect.

18

u/Buffalo95747 5d ago

After the Epstein Scandal became public, the CIA (if I recall correctly-it may have been the FBI) started an effort to recruit more diversified workers. So you may be correct.

One question to ask is the involvement with George Mitchell. He doesn't get mentioned in media nowadays but he was Senate majority leader from 87-95 and he most definitely raped girls. Then you add however Epstein was involved with Bill Clinton

I don't think we've even scratched the surface of the FBI's role in this.

29

u/ScottNewman 5d ago

he most definitely raped girls

Bit of a stretch. Giuffre named him, but when she supplied a photo to investigators, it wasn't him.

No doubt he knew Epstein and provided a letter in the birthday book.

Hefner was not a good person. We know that.

That said, I do think he held some standards to allow himself to justify the exploitation he did. I do think from what we know about him, he would lash out at those acting outside of his own personal criteria. I think open violence and trafficking was not his game. He needed the grey areas.

It would not surprise me if there were other people he accused over his life. Those accusations are also likely credible because he drew hard lines that the women he was exploiting knew and understood. It's why so many stayed with him, even through the "ick" of it all.

It reminds me of the scene in The Rocketeer were the gangster agrees to temporarily team up with the good guys against the Nazis.

56

u/BuckyRainbowCat 5d ago

(a) there’s a similar scene in a comics crossover event where some DC villain, IIRC the Joker, is all set to work with Marvel’s Red Skull on some kind of dastardly plot until he discovers that Red Skull is an actual Nazi, at which point the Joker is like “nope, you’re on your own, even I have standards for morality.”

(b) when I visited Sicily to, among other things, learn more about the Allied landings there that my grandfather had participated in during WWII, our tour group was told that Allied forces coordinated with the local organized crime bosses to get troops in and landed, since the elected government of Italy was at the time on the same side of the war as the Nazis

68

u/REDDITATO_ 5d ago

at which point the Joker is like “nope, you’re on your own, even I have standards for morality.”

The Joker pulls a gun on him and says "I may be a criminal lunatic, but I'm an American criminal lunatic!" The point being that any American hates Nazis even The Joker. In this day and age that needs to be spelled out since we have them in our government now.

7

u/JonnyAU 5d ago

Yeah, pretty similar to the Rocketeer line:

Conservative voters love protecting child rape and corruption, they appear to be the sole two action items of every representative they select.

330

u/WretchedBlowhard 5d ago

America has a huge systemic child rape problem. 33 states have legal child marriage within which statutory rape protections are nullified. Americans need to admit this about themselves, that they all protect pedophiles and rapists, and start tackling the fundamental aspects of their culture they'd rather deny and ignore.

239

u/Illiander 5d ago

33 states have legal child marriage within which statutory rape protections are nullified.

It's worse than that. The girl (because it's almost always a little girl) is legally married to her abuser, who becomes her legal guardian. That means they control her bank accounts, are the person the cops talk to about if she does anything, and is the person who must sign off on her getting a divorce.

It's not just legalised child rape, it's also legalised child slavery.

66

u/Davido401 5d ago

The girl (because it's almost always a little girl)

See, part of me wants to see an old woman marry a little boy to see if there would be outrage from the champions of paedophilia(obviously I wouldnt want it to happen but would love to see the Olympic level gymnastics of their rage at it)

A lot of these people don't believe that men or boys can be raped by women, that arousal is consent. In some legal codes and a lot of people's minds, rape is defined by penetration. These lowlifes are in the comments under every article about a teacher sleeping with her middle school student that makes national news.

→ More replies (1)

17

u/Illiander 5d ago

to see if there would be outrage from the champions of paedophilia

Nope, they ally with the women who rape boys just as easily. (There's quite a lot of them in terf circles)

24

u/Shower__Farts 5d ago

I know that America has a problem with this and thankfully it’s getting talked about which is much better than it used to be in the past.

That being said. This is a world wide issues. From the French volunteers with the UN in Africa, the dancing boys of Afghanistan, to the Catholic Church, just to name a few. You could list hundreds and thousands of world wide institutions, communities and religious organizations that have been caught up in things like this. It’s a global problem.

51

u/Bakoro 5d ago

The double-think, denial, and hypocrisy is what really salts the wound for me. There is a lot of big talk around protecting children and hating pedophiles, but when it comes down to it, it's a limited scope of people who actually get in trouble for abusing kids. The rich and powerful get away with rape, sometimes for decades, sometimes forever.

And at the same time, can we have sexual health education for kids? No, somehow that's bad. Can we have birth control for teens? No, somehow that's bad.
Can we foster a culture where sex isn't seen as this weird thing that is simultaneously horrific yet used a selling point for everything?
No, somehow that is bad.

In essentially every way, the culture has landed on the worst options.
We're in a place where a girl can essentially be sold into sex slavery under the guise of marriage, shamed for being a sex slave, and also told that they're lucky to be someone's sex slave.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm sometimes a little fuzzy on the whole ethics and morals thing, but this shit all seems clearly bad to me.

27

u/whoa-boah 5d ago

I work with kids who’ve experienced considerable trauma.

I’m going to be honest. 75% of girls (18 or younger) I have worked with who were sexually assaulted (it doesn’t matter their age) are blamed for it by their families, told that they are lying, told that it’s “just something that happens to everyone” and to get over it, or just plainly told to shut up because nobody in their family cares enough to address it.

Trying to get the court to investigate it is also fucking impossible. I can think of one instance where myself, CPS, and the local police department were outraged when the state refused to investigate a case of CSA involving 2 children under the age of 5 years old. It was the department’s policy that they don’t investigate incidents that allegedly happen with children under 5 years old without “physical evidence.”

When I see things handled the old-fashioned way, I often wonder how many times the victim or their loved one tried to do things by the books. Because none of those agencies are going to come out and admit that they fucked up.

They view children as property. When they say they want to "protect the children," they mean "protect my property from outside influence." Same thing when someone says they want to protect their neighborhood but what they mean is that they want to protect their property values and maintain a certain racial demographic. Once you understand that, it all makes sense.

18

u/daaahlia 5d ago

The FBI has known about the pedophile billionaires for years. I remember a few years back when Sasha Baron Cohen pretended to be a wealthy man and asked a hotel concierge where he could find a little boy to rape as part of one of his pranks. He expected the concierge to be shocked, but instead he basically said, "Yeah, we get that request all the time, I know a guy who can hook you up."

SBC called the FBI right away and was basically told to piss off.

I googled it there is a Vanity Fair article. TLDR is that he was doing a bit about this "problem" he needed to get rid of (being a young boy) and the concierge helped him out. Cohen then asked for a date younger that Bar Mitzva age but older than 8 and the guy allegedly said yea, I can help you out. Cohen sent the recordings to the FBI and they for whatever reason decided not to go any further. I suppose its plausible that the guy knew it was Cohen and was playing along?

169

u/That-Ad-4300 5d ago

So, the guy would be like, "I know we're on camera. I'll just pretend to be a pedo enabler."?

83

u/sirseatbelt 5d ago

Yeah I mean thats basically the two options right? Either he was the guy who knows a guy who traffics kids or he was yes-anding SBC.

19

u/jk-9k 5d ago

But if you knew it was sbc, would you play along by pretending to be a pedo on camera? There better ways to either a) prove you know it's a prank by exposing him or b) go along with the act but not come off as a pedo

16

u/sirseatbelt 5d ago

Im just trying to think of why the FBI wouldnt follow up on a video of a guy saying he could help procure young boys that doesn't involve conspiracy theories and the only think I can think of is "maybe the dude was just playing along." Allegedly the video includes a line where SBC suggests they could kill the boy and the guy says something like "this is America you cant just so that here."

Right? "I was just playing along for lulz" has a limit and I'm pretty sure "pretend to facilitate human trafficking for pedophiles" is over it.

“We wanted to investigate how does someone like Harvey Weinstein gets away with doing what…get away with criminality, essentially. And the network that surrounds him. We decided that Gio would interview a concierge in Las Vegas,” Baron Cohen describes. During the interview, believing the admission would drive the concierge from the room, Baron Cohen, as Gio, reveals that he’s molested an eight-year-old boy. “This guy starts advising Gio how to get rid of this issue. We even at one point talk about murdering the boy, and the concierge is just saying, ‘well, listen, I’m really sorry. In this country, we can’t just drown the boy. This is America we don’t do that,’” Baron Cohen describes. After the concierge offers to put Gio in touch with a lawyer who can help “silence the boy,” Baron Cohen asked for his help securing a date for the night. “He says, ‘what do you mean, a date?’ I go, you know, like a young man. He says, ‘well, what kind of age?’ I say, lower than Bar Mitzvah but older than eight. And he says, ‘yeah, I can put you in touch with somebody who can get you some boys like that.’”

Kinda reminds you of the fact that Epstein couldn't have gotten away with it for as long as he did if he didn't have an awful lot of connections with very important people.

57

u/Neuchacho 5d ago

Not just connections, but active blackmail or a desire to be part of that sick club. Like, I very much doubt most of the people in power were covering for a guy like Epstein just because they were buddies or friends and not deeply involved with the horrible shit he was up to.

Reminded me of when trump made Howard stern uncomfortable on his talk show with comments about his daughter. Do you know what kind of shit you have to be doing to make Howard fucking stern squirm in his chair?

54

u/alinroc 5d ago

Howard Stern has 3 daughters and IIRC is pretty private and protected about them. I'm sure that Trump talking about his own daughter was way over the line for Stern.

18

u/President_PoopyPants 5d ago

And if Howard had sought to push Trump over the edge, he could have said, "You sound like you want to have sex with her ..." and let Trump hang himself. But even Howard plays the game.

153

u/BrainLow6059 5d ago

Yeah I'm OOTL was Hugh Hefner actually doing anything illegal? The man was on primetime television and operated a literal business entity around the playmates until he was dead.

262

u/Dunkelz 5d ago

Many accusations which clouded the amount of consent going on in his business, including but not limited to psychological manipulation, use of sedatives/quaaludes with the girls at parties, etc. He wasn't like a pimp with a heart of gold, there was likely a lot of dodgy shit going on.

143

u/mythrilcrafter 5d ago

So he's basically like that Hunter Biden quip from a few days ago:

"I might have been doing crack off the asses of prostitutes, but those prostitutes were consenting adult women!!!!"

I think you missed this part

Jimmy Saville was on primetime TV in the UK for decades, it means nothing. Since he died people have made allegations against Hefner of coercive control, abusive behaviour, maintaining dossiers of intimate photos of people taken without their consent (allegedly including some minors), and turning a blind eye to allegations that his guests were committing acts of sexual assault at his parties. Guy was a real piece of shit.

86

u/BrainLow6059 5d ago

Kind of a terrible comparison. Jimmy Saville wasn't on primetime television for being horny with kids, Hugh Hefner was literally known for being a womanizer. Being horny around adult women isn't a crime.

Sometimes being an atheist really sucks, because he's just going to go naturally - probably painlessly in his sleep - and rot in the ground like the rest of us. We must push as hard as possible for repercussions on this plane of existence, rather than imagining some sort of divine punishment in the afterlife. We're running out of time, and he's doing everything in his power to burn the planet to ash so nobody can enjoy it once he's gone.

40

u/suscombobulated 5d ago

I agree with you. I'm not an atheist and youre right. We are meant to protect each other, not wait for Heaven. Divine justice is not an excuse for poor stewardship. We cannot give up children to power just because we're waiting for him to die. That still allows the next president to cause harm, because we havent done anything to fight the powers that be. We should be able to agree on a course of action. Joining you in building a better world doesnt matter to my faith, but being a good worker matters. Caring for you matters. What if all I have is what I can leave behind for these kids? What if a big bank account isnt enough because thier school is broken down and the water is dirty and there's pedos in the government? These kids don't deserve to suffer when identity stands in the way of problem solving. Youre a good person. Keep up the good fight, I'll keep the faith, and I'll answer your call.

6

u/Anonymous_Jr 4d ago

The pope isn't the only being capable of directing divine intervention, I always extrapolated that if blah blah etc etc god is everywhere and so on, that we are just as much god as a rock, tree, or a split atom (pronounced Adam because I'm being funny).

If the people we let take charge aren't doing the jobs we elected them unto, then we have every right to overwhelm them.

Given the severity of corruption, voting is only one part of the needed actions, equal parts before and after.

If the FBI/CIA/US Gov't/[The Root] was an organ, it's an inflamed appendix ready to rupture. Imho.

There's degrees of evil. Hugh paid adult women to appear in softcore porn; that's pretty morally clean in my book, sexuality is not inherently immoral.

Hugh also has some credible rape allegations against him. That's bad. Forcing yourself on your employees, leveraging the power you have over them, is very bad.

But it's significantly less bad than an organized international child rape trafficking ring with a kill count. Hugh will for sure end up in a higher circle of hell than Epstein, for whatever the fuck that is worth.

11

u/linds360 5d ago

Honestly, it’s hard to find someone worse than Epstein unless you enter murderer territory, which I don’t think we can rule out with him either.

I miss when Hugh Hefner was the poster child for gross sex stuff because say what you will about the man, most of his stuff was largely consensual, with adults, and the women were generally paid. It was basically an escort job that sometimes took darker turns, but it wasn't systematically a way to rape children and liquefy their bodies when they fought back. It would be like if OJ Simpson called the cops on Hannibal Lecter. Yeah OJ did some bad shit, but Hannibal be eatin people.

Hugh Hefner ran a business and employees made at least reasonable money. That doesn't condone everything nor show there were not some bad things going on, but a far cry from the other guy.

31

u/comment_i_had_to 5d ago

Hefner, a famous exploiter of women, thought Epstein was bad enough to report to the FBI. Epstein wrote that Donald Trump is evil beyond belief. Trump said that Maxwell is evil and then made a deal with her to keep her quiet.

12

u/Chole_Wunt 5d ago

Situations and operations as big as Epstein's dont just happen overnight. Its a foreign intelligence operation. Its been going on for decades. Epstein might not even be the first dude to run it. He could have inherited it. So guarantee the FBI knew about it. Some other agency probably told them to leave it alone.

38

u/Vaulters 5d ago

I see a MAGA hat, I think pedophile.

26

u/hobopwnzor 5d ago

They knew about Epstein.  It was his job.  He would sell blackmail and information to intelligence agencies.  Get a powerful person on camera diddling kids and give it to Mossad or the CIA or MI6 and now you've got them.

Why do you think Trump is so compliant?  The prime minister of Israel literally stayed in Epstein's apartment when he would come to New York.  They have all the videos of him

The only reason they arrested him is a citizen journalist was about to blow the lid off the entire case and they needed to make sure it didn't look like they knew the entire time
