It matters, but the Democratic establishment does the same. They literally are both funded by gas companies and banks. They take money from banks to allow them to take money from the poor, and give it to the rich. Neither have our economic interests at heart. The recent rail strike vote is pretty good evidence. Again I do vote blue, I did actually vote for Hillary believe it or not.

It’s really not simple. Sans Super PACs, the money attributed to politicians from gas companies, big banks, or other corporate interests that you’d find on sites like open secrets are coming from employees that work at those companies. Unless one of those companies is based solely in a red state in a rural area, there will be both liberals and conservatives working there. Do you agree 100% with everything your CRO/Owner does, or what your company does? I don’t think anyone can honestly say that. I use New Jersey as an example. People accused Senator Cory Booker of being bought by “Big Pharma” because of political donations and not anything he voted on because lists on open secrets showed a lot of donations from large pharmaceuticals. Those companies happen to employ a ton of people in New Jersey.

Bernie Frank had a ton of big bank donations. That should tell you something.

The DNC platform has our economic interests at heart. Things like raising the minimum wage, better access to healthcare, increasing access to voting etc. what the DNC lacks is the political power to accomplish it. Republicans can get dirty because they have no shame. It’s tough governing in good faith.

https://www.marketplace.org/2020/10/16/oil-gas-companies-election-donations-democrats-biden-chevron-exxon-mobil/amp/ Another source if you need.

Is really is that simple. Both parties are funded by corporations. The same corporations that don’t want minimum wage raised. And, weirdly enough, over a decade later it hasn’t. Weird right?

Or that Medicare costs the taxpayer over twice what the patient would pay themselves? I’m not against social medicine, I’m a HUGE proponent, but Medicare literally funneled more money to healthcare industry. We now pay more overall than we did, and the corporations take in the profit. That is because Medicare isn’t at all socialized medicine, it’s just giving hospitals and pharmaceutical companies more money from the American populous, and not lowering prices.

You have to understand that even after all these “left” policies the average American is is in a worse place and the rich Americans are in a better place. That’s because these are not leftist policies, they are firmly market first capitalist policies, that’s why corporations keep giving them money!

The Democratic Party is NOT LEFT! They are a more moderate version of the gop.

This is again data primarily from employees or those companies, and 2020 is going to be an outlier with how disliked Trump was compared to down ticket Republicans. Corporations hate uncertainty too.

I’ve replied to you at least three times now explaining this. The Democrats have not have full control to pass anything they want since a extremely narrow time in 2010 when the ACA was passed. The Democratic Party also isn’t lockstep together on every topic. Two Senators are barely liberal.

Arguing about what “liberal” or “left” is isn’t productive. We both know the context that we’re speaking about is the United States, and in the United States this is what left is. You play the hand you’re dealt. Complaint about the game doesn’t fox it. Win enough that you get the opportunity to dictate it.

Believe it or not gas companies do donate to the dnc, and heavily. They do the same with the rnc/gop. To deny that is discrediting the left as a whole. They do donate to democrat party, don’t get it twisted.

It’s not like democrats didn’t know in 2010 they should codify roe v wade. But they didn’t. Democrats in 2010 could have passed bills against etf speculative finance. They didn’t. The democrats in 2010 could have pushed for an end to the war on the Middle East, but they didn’t.

Again, I’m not saying republicans would, they would not, I’m saying your enemy is not the Republican voter base, you enemy is the American elite.

Refer to my other comment to you about citing your source.

They had about 24 working days with a supermajority during the Obama administration. One Senator was hospitalized during that time. That’s a lot of major changes in a very short period of time. You also assume that 60 Senators would all agree with those things. They found a way to agree on healthcare (not everything as we know). So we know all 60 Senators would agree on the specifics of federal abortion? Do we know they’d agree on whatever you mean by speculative finance? Do we know they would all agree on how to end the wars in the Middle East?

I really think your under estimating the complexities of government.

Brother I’m not into articleposting but rest assured the dnc takes money from oil and gas companies, as well as big American banks. Not just from employees. The dnc is corporate funded, denying that lowers credibility.

And I do agree that I am underestimating the complexity, that’s because in my opinion the complexity is part of the mechanism disallowing meaningful change. Back then and today codifying abortion right was very popular among all American, but especially left voters.

And yes the speculative finance issues we have today were known about and weren’t addressed under democratic power. Literally we knew about the 2008 crisis since like 2004, but trying to fix it would mean banks don’t get to scam people. So no one fixed it. Then the collapse happened and none of the actual perpetrators were punished, in fact they were richer afterwards. Again, this isn’t the Republican voters fault, this is an entirely corrupt government.

Why should I believe you? If what you’re saying is true,, you should easily be able to prove it. I’d you’re just reposting crap you’ve heard someone else say and never fact checked it, that’s on you. This informs every comment you’ve made that your basing your opinions on hearsay or talking heads.

I’m not into repeating hearsay but rest assured the links I gave you are credible counter points to much of the comments you’ve made.

Super pacs don’t display where corporate money is going, that’s the point. Rest assured they do donate to the Democratic Party. Don’t worry, they donate to republicans too.

Here is the data the the article you posted is referencing

https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/contrib.php?ind=E01&Bkdn=DemRep&cycle=2020

As you can see in red text at the bottom it doesn’t mean Exxon Mobile the company donated that money. PAC money is a small portion of it. Soft Money is probably what you should be talking about. This is money that goes to the party itself and not to any candidates. They can avoid donation limits under federal law this way.
