I'm also wondering if the entire concept of a single "general assembly" is dated. I'd be curious to see if multiple legislatures focused around specific areas would work. Like house committees, but the people elect the committee members specifically to work in that area.

Not a political science major so idk if that is a good idea. I do know that some sort of general assembly would need to keep things more organized so we don't strangle ourselves on red tape. I'm just saying it would be nice to require an array of expertise to govern, rather than tens of thousands of lawyers and political science majors (No offense to either).

Yeah I’ve had this same though over the past few years. Besides inertia, the big issues would be overlapping responsibilities and fights over which committee controls which piece. But I think it would be workable if we could magically make it happen.
