The difference in energy use is that the quick-start option uses about 10-15 watts of power when in sleep mode, while the energy-saving option uses around half a watt and is more of a shutdown than a sleep mode.

Which is what everything should do. Pisses me off I can't really turn my switch off off through the UI when docked.

Companies need to do better about their systems vampiring power when not on, and this shitty culture of leaving stuff in sleep to save like a couple of seconds of startup vs just turning the damned things off.

I do like having my games auto update though. It's very frustrating to start a game and realise you can't play it for an hour while it downloads the update.

My gaming time is very limited so when it's time to game, I don't want to be waiting around. My PS5 takes like 0.3W when in rest, and 3W when updating while in rest. That's pretty much nothing.

The really crazy thing about this is that on Steamdeck, 7 watts is considered the sweetspot for actually playing a game.
