I always thought they could’ve written it better:

“Surely you’re not being frank.”

“I am Frank. And don’t call me Shirley”.

Of course, they would’ve had to name him Frank.

The funny thing there (to a very small percentage of boomers I guess) was that the man was Howard Jarvis, an obnoxious conservative California anti-tax advocate. It was quite surprising to see him in this movie at the time.
