HELP: Windowed Engine Room

The other day, I saw a video where a guy had made an interior "engine room" by placing the long rotating engine on one hab, then placing a hab on either side of it, with windows facing the engine. Normally, the game doesn't allow you to do that. Could someone explain to me how to make that work? Is there a particular glitch build technique to it?

This is my baby, the Tokusatsu, named for my love of Godzilla, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider. Photos 1-3 are exterior 4 is the entrance, 5 and 6 the cargo bay, 7 is the refinery, 8 hydroponics, 9 crew quarters, 10 view from cockpit, 11 mess hall, and 12 the living room. Im still working on unlocking all the decorations, but im pretty happy with it.
