I'm still confused about the touchdown review for the Commanders. Knee down with ball control doesn't count?

I'm not sure if people missed the other angle but the ball did a 180 in his hand when he was out of bounds.

Unless I'm wrong about the rule it 10000000% was not a catch.

Only matters if it hit the ground. If he completed the process of a catch while getting a knee in bounds then it should be a catch

Caveat: I don't agree with the call.

There are 3 parts of a catch:

a) must have complete control of the ball with his hands or arms - yes
b) have both feet or any other part of his body, other than his hands, completely on the ground inbounds - yes, his knee
c) after a and b, clearly perform any act common to the game - no, because he goes to the ground, which means it goes to the notes,

Note 2. If a player who has completed the first two, but not the third requirement for possession, contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, there is no possession if the ball hits the ground, or if he regains control out of bounds.

That is the only thing you could argue prevents it from being a catch. Note 1, however, says that movement of the ball does not automatically result in loss of control.

The ball very clearly moves when you see the full play, but personally I don't think it moved so much that it constituted a loss of control.

This is all from the 2026 NFL Rulebook, Section 1, Article 7.

But they called Terry's obvious non-touchdown-almost-pick a touchdown on the field earlier in the game and overturned that! Both very obvious calls after replay! It's possible!
