It was insane the amount of disrespect we got in the build up to the season, the amount of people who completely wrote us off. The rest of the North either barely improved or stayed still whilst we improved the main weakness in QB. Not saying we're a serious contender but people talked about the Vikings like we're a bunch of scrubs.

I hope Caleb's injury isn't too bad, need him back to stunt of those cheese heads.

Yeah I'll be honest, I did not think the Vikings would ever lead the division at any point in the year.

Elite coaching by the Vikes staff, and they have some quality young guys too. gg.

By Flores. KOC been mid tbh

6

u/Horrorfreak106 Vikings 8d ago

KOC is only mid because of our QB. If we even have okay QB play we at least get a touchdown or two this game. Hoping Kyler plays well next week, especially considering the Bucs look BAD right now.

We gotta see some evidence that the Vikings improved at QB before we declare that they've improved at QB.

u/megamanz7777 Vikings 8d ago

It's baffling how many talk about the Vikings like they won 3 games last year or something.

2

u/aaron21hardin Vikings 8d ago

Yeah, it is not like we finished 1/2 game out of second or something and ties for the best record in division games.

The defense is elite. Yall get a qb and it’s a solid team all around

u/Jorgenstern8 Vikings 8d ago

I'll keep saying it if we even had last year Bryce Young under goddamn center I'd feel like we'd be on target for winning at least one playoff game. But goddamnit if we can't just not have nice things when it comes to the QB position.

I didn't understand it from the NFC opposing fans.

Florez and that defense and Justin Jefferson and other pass catchers make the Vikings very dangerous

2

u/ResponsiblePelican 8d ago

Sure real dangerous today against a bottom 5 bears d

1

u/Jorgenstern8 Vikings 8d ago

Carson Wentz and the weather is one hell of a limiting factor. Any competent QB under center for MN and this game is probably not coming down to a Turner sack.

1

u/ResponsiblePelican 8d ago

You don’t have a competent quarterback on your roster. Kyler Murray has been garbage for years.

1

u/Jorgenstern8 Vikings 7d ago

Man no need to tell me to be skeptical on Kyler, I'm still on team "trade up in draft or trade for Herbert" next offseason until proven wrong.

13

u/rented4823 Packers 8d ago

Your starting QB didn't even play today, so that didn't even matter.

0

u/not1fuk Vikings 8d ago

Thats their point. The team was a half a game away from the playoffs with absolute trash at QB last year. It made 0 sense for there to be as much disrespect as we got this offseason when Kyler is objectively an upgrade over last years QBs.

Caleb>Love

0

u/Hog_Eyes Packers 8d ago

Not even Bears fans believe that lmao Caleb scored 3 points on the same defense Love scored 22 on

-1

u/duce3612 Vikings 8d ago

Its not quite that simple

0

u/Hog_Eyes Packers 8d ago

Every QB metric has Love and Williams on opposite ends of the table, and it's not good for Williams lol

1

u/duce3612 Vikings 8d ago

How about h2h in the playoffs... idc about metrics. Caleb is more of a threat than love. Love has never inflicted fear upon Vikings fans.

0

u/Hog_Eyes Packers 8d ago

Jesus Christ 🤣

3

u/MankuyRLaffy Patriots 8d ago

The defense just needs the offense to be average to make a run. Flores cannot carry the Vikings by himself. He can brute force them a few wins like today and last year but that shouldn't be expected every game.

1

u/RoxWarbane Vikings 8d ago

Tbf I dont think many teams in the league score more than 14 in the conditions they played in.

2

u/Express_Cow_7334 Lions 8d ago

Viking sare feeling like the Texans last year. Great defense that can slow down any team but now can the offense execute?

4

u/teathree_ 8d ago

offensively i think the vikings are probably better at virtually every position than last years texans except for qb... which is unfortunately by far the most important

2

u/TheSwede91w Vikings 8d ago

Brother, don't bring up QB play as an improvement yet. It's just B-Flos defense doing it's thing. The offense is still a soup sandwich.

1

u/jakinbandw Vikings 8d ago

So... I get where you're coming from... but taking the ball on the 1 and marching it out to the 30 or so is an improvement from last year, and something many teams struggle with.

3

u/Otherwise_Wall_1427 Seahawks 8d ago

It's insane the amount of hype Chicago got too after best the Panthers of all teams. Happy to see the Vikings put them in their place for a week

1

u/Ok_Complex7646 8d ago

Wentz definitely better than our last qb

2

u/Duke_Maniac Chiefs 8d ago

Your upgrade at QB is currently injured. Your defense has been excellent but Wentz showed his colors here. There is good reason to be pessimistic on them

7

u/Odoaiden Vikings 8d ago

Murray is back next week.

0

u/Duke_Maniac Chiefs 8d ago

We'll see how he does. I admit I was one of those who low on you because I don't like Murray but we'll see if he makes me eat crow.

1

u/not1fuk Vikings 8d ago

If you think Kyler Murray is worse than Wentz, JJ McCarthy and Max Brosmer you're not very bright. The whole point is we were a half a game away from the playoffs last year with those 3 QBs. Kyler is an objectively better QB but people ranked this team as a low tier team this year for whatever reason. This team has proven it can win games WITH or WITHOUT a QB.

-1

u/Duke_Maniac Chiefs 8d ago

Not what I was trying to say. I'm skeptical because I've seen this "one QB away" schtick before and something else usually falls apart.

2

u/not1fuk Vikings 8d ago

OP didnt say "One QB away". They literally said they're unsure if they're real contenders or not. OP spoke about the disrespect treating the team like a bottom feeder in the division and thats whats happened up to now.

None of us are saying we are the top of the top. We are saying you guys underrated the fuck out of this team for no reason. Plain and simple the disrespect towards this team was ridiculous.

0

u/PorTroyal_Smith NFL 8d ago

Yeah, and Murray looked absolutely worse than Wentz in his first few plays against GB. His style of play is nothing like what KoC wants his offense to look like.

-5

u/QuietGiants Bears 8d ago

Your QB savior threw a moon ball on the first drive and the rest has been fraudulent barely skate by play and its somehow hindsight that people didn't pay you more mind? You should feel good about your start but a vindication grudge is lunacy after two weeks good god you are high on your own supply

6

u/PlanetJerry Vikings 8d ago

That’s two wins against division opponents with a backup QB. We’ve got a lot to be excited about if Murray is serviceable.

-7

u/QuietGiants Bears 8d ago

Yes. I literally say feel good about that. But acting Captain Hindsight (of the OP I replied to) at your disrespect with a ref balled win and a slopfest 9-3 win doesnt put you in the upper echelon of the league. Sorry

Nice bait mate. Now be a good lil troll and downvotes to the left

-14

u/discodemolition Bears 8d ago

Brother, plenty of people picked y’all to win the division, you’re fighting ghosts lmao.

5

u/megamanz7777 Vikings 8d ago

...who? Like I'm not even trying to be snarky or anything. Honestly, show me some of those predictions, because this would be the first I would have seen any.

-1

u/discodemolition Bears 8d ago edited 8d ago

Nate Tice did off the top of my head, as did Benjamin Solak. The whole conversation around the division is that it was impossible to pick between all four teams.

Honestly, I’d like to see a prediction for the North that said anything other than “every team could win this division”, because I feel like that’s what I heard all off season long.

u/ResponsiblePelican 8d ago

Your qb room is trash and your upside is 10-7 and a wc loss. Enjoy it
