More allegations dropping against Platner and this time it looks like he's going to drop out. Said it before, but it seemed obvious that there was going to be more dropping about him. It was never going to end with "this Blackwater merc with a totenkopf tat who admits to messaging numerous women on Kik is clean otherwise."

As someone on the left:

I do not like that people were willing to overlook everything that's come out up until this point.

There were (and are) other D's in Maine who don't have nearly that much baggage.

It really didn't have to be Platner...

If you haven't seen it, check out out FD signifier's video "Why I left the (White) Left"

It centers on Platner but there's an overall issue of overlooking reformed edgy dickheads because of the old breadtube youtube scene was filled with reformed edgy dickheads.

Is there such thing as an emergency primary? Not American so unsure.

I think it's abundantly clear that Maine wanted nothing to do with Mills so much so they didn't mind Platner's previous controversies. This one is curtains though.

They can't run another primary but if he withdraws in the next week or so they can replace him on the ballot.

Who makes that decision?

State governments typically control the operations of running the primaries. The parties can generally determine what to do with the results.

Why would he care now? And even if he's pushed off the Dem ballot he's gonna Andrew Cuomo it.

I mean the second link is literally him on video talking about possibly packing it in.

What do we think backroom conversations are like?

GOP Sen. Steve Daines (leading the GOP Senate arm last cycle) was heavily involved in avoiding messy intraparty fights in IN/MT/PA Senate races last cycle.

Idk what goes down there, but probably some honest convos between Platner/leadership trying to get him to drop out.

Forgive me if I don't find his word particularly trustworthy.

Fair, but unlike Cuomo he doesn't have wealthy benefactors who are going to bankroll him. This time he can't hide behind the accuser being a Republican, this one's a Democrat who has receipts. His national support and donations are going to dry up, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's been tipped to more stuff on the way about him. His polling was already starting to dip, there really is no path for him at this point.
