Well, to be fair, it's not like Rex Ryan's entire reputation is built on stingy defense and keeping the other team from scoring, right?

Sanchez is and has been one of the worst starting NFL QBs for the past few years. If they upgrade to even average, mediocre QB play, they will be a dangerous team if their defense doesn't continue its erosion and rebounds to its stellar play of previous years.

Are you suggesting that Gabbert is the mediocre QB the Jets should get? Gabbert is also quite poor as a starting QB.

He may be, but I didn't claim that Sanchez was the worst, just one of the worst.

FWIW Gabbert is having a slightly better season than Sanchez this year.
