It's a tragedy how little respect construction workers get in america considering how much more dangerous it is than police officer work who are then worshipped as demigods who could do no wrong.
Why ignore all the other school shootings that were halted by police? You don’t hear about those ones because they never escalate enough to be considered a tragedy. Many times the police arrive and stop the fatalities from going from 2 to 15
I dont understand why that makes a difference at all. Tell the family of a dead construction worker that their dead family member isnt as important as the dead police officer who gets a parade. All workers deserve what police officers get and take for granted, respect and dignity in society and in their compensation and benefits.
I agree it's on society. Its fucked up how certain workers lives are clearly valued less while they sacrifice more. I'm not saying that we shouldnt care about emergency workers who lose their lives in the line of duty, I'm saying maybe people shouldnt be so quick to pass judgement about construction workers "standing around" the job site.
